Saints Have The Chance To Drag 10 Clubs Into The Relegation Battle Tuesday, 3rd Dec 2019 22:20 If Saints can beat Norwich then the relegation battle could suddenly get a bit more crowded, can they do it. After the win against Watford Saints need to do it all again against Norwich and if they do so then they could suddenly bring a lot of the teams above them into the dogfight at the bottom After Bournemouth lost against Crystal Palace tonight, if Saints should win it would bring them to within a point of the Cherries and indeed only 3 points behind Burnley who lost at home to Manchester City, this shows how condensed the Premier League is this season, Burnley had hoped to go 5th by beating City. Indeed a Saints win would suddenly bring the 10 clubs currently above them potentially into our sights going into the weekend after the mid week games are completed on Thursday. A win for us could see us jump above Everton if they lose to Liverpool and draw level with both Villa and Brighton should they lose their games at Chelsea and Arsenal respectively. It would also see us only a point behind the Cherries as mentioned and a West Ham defeat at Wolves would leave them only a point ahead of us. In fact if Spurs win at Old Trafford then we would only be 3 points behind United. Sheffield United host Newcastle on Thursday, a win for the Blades would leave the Toon Army on only 16 points, a draw here would leave both within our sights should we win. So it is a big night for Saints on Wednesday, winning changes the season suddenly and gives us a great platform for the next 3 games all against teams directly above us. Saints fans can start to believe again after the Watford win, we have had a few dramas this season, but only one real disaster, we can come through a difficult time stronger than before and giving us an opportunity like last season to surge in the New Year especially if we get in a central defender. As I have always said, we are not a bad team, we are a good one with poor central defenders, sort that problem out and we will be fine.
