I now live in the welsh valleys ..............I wear my Dale tops with pride ...........I love using the words reet northern "I dare say" (tha still think they can play rugby chucks) but I am 10 mins away from the nearest LARGE town. It's sunny down there but cold and snowing up here...........and can be vice versa. Went for a walk up the mountains / hills this afternoon water still frozen a good 1 inch thick
Things are not that bad........... .really are they?
Hopefully at the end of this season we are still a League 1 club ...even better as the final days approach to the second half of the season we are still challenging for a play off place.
We will hopefully still have Hilly as Manager not looking to find an Eyre or Coleman to replace him....and failing.
(I always believed in Dick Connor...Eyre was another Walter Joyce now that was a hard season)
As for Matty Done who would have believed he would go from left back (that was thought as a gamble) to a prolific centre forward? Did that not happen to Chris Sutton not an originally recognized forward?
Do some players fail because their coached out of position by misguided thoughts?
Who will be the next surprise?
I trust Hilly to be making the right decisions and I would rather be seeing these debates than to see Dale fans worrying like we did in dark days .............when the Dale had the weather , traffic issues to save us along with Mr Rochdale's good standing.
I found it quite intriguing that it was mentioned that the move by Buckley to Sunderland generated money for the club STILL and the Club made money from Le Fondre's move to Cardiff STILL and monies still arriving for Lambert.
Perhaps this could be something explored and implemented by the "new commercial manager"?
The online ticketing could have an over all sponsorship with additional sponsorship for specific matches (on line exposure) inclusive in any sponsorship a mention in the match programme and tannoy on match days.
Just a thought.
The monies need not be out of reach for small independent businesses (those involved with an online presence can have automatic links to their own websites if they haven't got one why can the club not create one need only be a page and included in the cost.) Hopefully it could be worked out in such a way that wouldn't conflict with the matchday programme revenues
"It looks like brilliant Stoke City forward Bojan Krkic damaged the cruciate ligaments in his knee during Monday night's FA Cup fourth-round win at Rochdale." (Sky Sports)
Fans on their forum are getting quite giddy now............ asking for a full strength team ...some starting to think it could be their year................still there is an event on Monday
Perhaps they are gambling that there is an if and when cleared they will be looked on favourably if and when he can be signed , as somebody who supported him in a time of need. The cynic in me says it was the only thing they could do to steal the Dales thunder for such an awesome result.....just the cynic in me.
