I finished The Spy (Netflix) last night. True story of an Israeli spy who managed to get into the top echelons of the Syrian Govt in the early-60’s. It’s really good - one of those “oh one more episode, then i’ll go to bed” jobs.
Sacha Baron Cohen plays the lead and he’s very good - there’s me thinking he hadn’t bettered his King Julian role yet.
I’m sure it’s been recommended on here before but too many pages on here now to see who it was to be able to thank them - but you know who you are, so thank you!
… so much it’s playing with your memory? He played for Spurs that day! The fcker should have been sent off, though. Still remember him hauling sinton to the floor and Sinton got booked!
(frantically checks if Singh ever sent Gray off when he was playing for us)
Man that 2nd half was PROPER RANGERS. On the train home after a couple of happy pints. Thing about Knob End - they know how to galvanise a home crowd. MOM Morgan. Ran his socks off with no little skill, either. Get in there!
Oh, Disco, ID. My S Club 7 Dont Stop Movin’ guilty secret of the film world.
The god-like Sean Pertwee, Saskia Reeves, playing quite possible the FILTHIEST barmaid in the history of UK screen, it’s even got belly laughs, provided by that sit-com no mark playing the coked-up hard man lead and …. well I just can’t watch an episode of Outnumbered without thinking “why can’t it be happy sex?” Quite wrong of me, of course.
Um, has anyone said Mean Machine? (The original of course, you youngsters).
They’ve been diving, cheating, ref-bothering whingers for years. That donkey Chris Sutton, or Grant Holt, anyone?
I always think back to an early-90s home match whenever we play them. It was the year that they were top of the league until quite late on. They were one up and the amount of diving and time-wasting really wound us all up and our support was bloody ferocious second half. We equalised with a Falco header from a Super-Bard cross and Falco probably fouled the defender as he was climbing all over him but there would have been a riot of it got disallowed.
Not quite revenge for 75-76 because they faded badly thereafter, but it was great at the time.
Just finished The Sticky (Amazon). About a great, um, …. Maple Syrup heist 😂
Bit of a Canadian Fargo, I suppose. It has the excellent Margo Martindale, who I only really knew from The Americans and Justifed, but she’s great in both, and also Nigel Tufnell’s less famous wife.
