Let's just get on top of this: Said "former Trust Chairman" is an esteemed friend of mine of nigh on 30 years. He doesn't need me to stick up for him in any way, but such are his contributions to this football club over much of that time; him being a lynchpin in saving the club from the vultures; and my care for a friend necessitates my comment. He might have been "pissed as a newt" but there is not a chance what you 'think' you saw is the truth, not a cat in hell's chance. Whether my words carry any weight or not - I have no idea; still, based on Brierls' polite rebuttal from actually being there, I'd suggest you retract that part of your analysis as he does not deserve any besmirchment of his reputation based on a misunderstanding. |

Anyone else watching the national League Tv stream got broken audio? It is always the worst quality in audio and video from home games. |

Not yet, it's on my list of reads. His Radio show is great and has been an essential source of balanced, informed views from 'back home' since I stumbled upon him during lockdown. |

Seems like the French don't actually like the rabid right and decided not to push their protest vote too far. Bien joué, bravo mes amis! https://www.theguardian.com/world/article/2024/jul/07/exit-poll-shows-surprise-w And a note on the "look at other unhappy countries in Europe, they will be joining us out of the EU soon" vibes that some purport: In Hungary, "anti EU" Orban won't take them out, even though he has total power there and the backing of the Kremlin, as he knows it will bankrupt his grift. In Poland last year, the youth and those possessing a brain, qued for hours to vote out their anti-EU, right-leaning swine that had taken over their country. Electing the former Brussels superstar - Donald Trusk as PM. Italian right government - no talk of leaving. Right wing Slovak Fico - shot by one of his own citizens. Brexit must always be seen for what it was, a con, leading the UK to become the 1st country in history to vote to apply economic sanctions on itself. I have been very harsh in the past with Brexit voters, but as I age and mellow and listen to the wonderful James O'Brien on LBC regularly; I have adopted his mantra on Brexit: contempt for the conmen, compassion for the conned. Hopefully, the new Labour government can be a step in the right direction to heal the wound of Brexit and start the 1st baby steps of the UK coming back into the EU. It will be a long difficult process - the UK is way below the entry minimum requirements currently, BUT, with hard work and the right choices, Britain could once again regain its place in the European family. |

Fan-owned didn't work out so what is it now? Fan managed? Why not set up a politburo for tactics? Better still, we can all vote on how many passes we want, shots on target, MAX sideways passes etc. REALLY let the manager know how to do it... |

If the Trust now know the details of the potential investor and have done tentative behind the scenes checks then why can't they introduce themselves to each other and speak prior to the EGM vote? That could easily be done via a video link if needed. The Trust were promised that they would be included in discussions with investors. Would you be happy for that to happen and the Trust not comment their opinion? Maybe the members of the Trust board don't fancy having dog shit put through their letterboxes or pilloried for 'endorsing' the potential new owners if things turn sour. After reading some of the comments made by numpties on the Facebook 'appreciation' page, I don't blame them. This is not aimed at you TS, but it seems to me there are people around who want to have a guaranteed Fred Ratcliffe type take over - singing coom by yah whilst endowed with Dale tattoos. Very low probability. We are on the brink of death, one which has been coming for longer than the current board and the monopoly man's work, as such, as was with the Covid vaccines, we are gonna have to weigh up the risk v reward and take the medicine as the alternative is (for us) guaranteed death. We're not in a position to be so risk averse, unfortunately, and when 'cutting your cloth' becomes harakiri, something has to give. Despite his general ineptitude in running the football club, based on the Trust statement, I endorse the Chairman's proposal. [Post edited 24 Feb 8:30]

It was visible in the original trial that Paddy was probably being stitched up. I said in the beginning that he would never be guilty of this; knowing him as well as I do, it was at complete odds with his character and an absolute nonsense. Was disappointing to read the moronic ramblings about him from those who know nothing of him in the prior thread, but thankfully that level of ignoramus is alien to most of us. He and his young family have been through plenty of stress and heartache in recent years and they will come through this stronger. |

No, but Saturday was shit audio - mic kept dropping. TBH, it seems to be much better at away grounds. Looks like issues with the data connection at the stadium. |
