When RM came to the UK from Spain he came with two friends and they were know as The 3 Amigos. They went to Wigan and the Owner had RM stay in his house and treated him like a son. If it had been any other club RM would NOT have gone, he felt he owed a debt of gratitude to the person who took him into his house.
What we should remember is what he did for Swansea in the footballing sense and be thankful to him for that,
I expect some verbal abuse from some of the readers of Planet Swans but I stand by what I believe and that is RM did Swansea proud and for that we should thank him not abuse him |

Started following the Swans in 1946/7 season. Had just passed 11plus and a gang of us used to go the the Vetch . After the war there were several players from N. Ireland MacCrory, Feeney Lockhart were a few. Also saw Trevor Ford, Roy Paul and a few others (cant remember their names). I remember us playing Man City, Spurs also Newport. The old 2nd Div was a tough one. I believe Roy Paul went to BogataSouth America being one of the first British players to do so.Still Have my season ticket for next season whatever Div we are in. |

Lord Bony, We have never met and possibly the only thing we have in common is that we both follow the Swans When I read your post my mind went back to when I was 66
I too was diagnosed with Cancer and when told it leaves you with mixed emotions. I Had Radical surgery and the Consultant told me he would get me to 70. Three years later had 35 sessions of Radio Therapy which left me in a bit of a mess I am now on 3 monthly courses of injections On Sep 8 I will be 82 and still following the Swans
I know every situation is different but the one thing you must have is a Positive outlook and a firm belief in your Surgeon and live life to the full. My thoughts are with you in this look forward to reading your posts on Planet Swans for a long time yet. |

Sorry to hear that, take heart and do not give up.
When I was 66 I was diagnoses with Prostrate Cancer and had to have Radical Surgery which leaves you in a bit of a state, The night before the op the surgeon came to visit me
and told me not to worry, he would get me to 70. 3 years later I had 35 sessions of Radiotherapy and now am on 3 monthly injections of HRT. It was all worth while as I am 82 next birthday and was able to see the Swans in the Premiership. Roll on next season. |

Keep thinking Positive. I to had Prostrate Cancer when I was 66yrs of age. I had major surgery then three years later 35 courses of Radiotherapy, I am now on HRT 3 monthly injections. I will be 81yrs old in September and going strong, I have my Season Ticket for next season. Just enjoy Life as it comes. |

I have very pleasant memories of you playing and am with you at this very anxious time.
I was diagnosed with Prostrate Cancer when I was 66 years of age. I had radical surgery to remove the Prostrate and the Consultant told me he would get me to 70. Three years later it came back and I had 35 courses of Radiotherapy, I am now on three monthly injection of HRT. I am now approaching my 81st Birthday and still going strong and have my Season Ticket for next season. You have to think positive and do not let it get you down, All my Best Wishes for the future. |

A few weeks ago my daughter dropped me off outside the Grosvenor Casino, it was at 8.0 o'clock in the evening. It took me 20 seconds to get out of the car and onto the pavement. It was in the Bus Lane but when I inquired from the Bus Company no buses use High St after 6.30 in the evening. I am the holder of a Disable Blue Badge and it was on display, the reason I stopped in the Bus Lane was that the Disabled Parking Bay opposite was full with cars not displaying a Blue Badge I wrote to the Council explaining all this, their reply was pay up or else. I did pay inside the time given and it was £35.

When I was in Oz ten years ago I had dinner in Swansea and tea in Cardiff, very odd. Both are in New South Wales. |
