Swans crush Blackburn : Was it just a coincidence ? on 22:26 - Feb 22 with 993 views | STID2017 | Excellent report. Swans performance today far exceeded anything we have seen under Duff or Luke Williams and even most of what we endured under Russell Martin Well done Sheehan and everyone involved at Swans on a superb win

Fvck me I've been saying that since he came to us. Williams has been taking the p!ss and I bet sheehan has been banging his head against a wall.
Swans crush Blackburn : Was it just a coincidence ? on 00:04 - Feb 23 with 842 views | Dr_Winston | There have been a lot of people desperate to write off basically all of the attacking players we've acquired under Williams, and some of those brought in just before. The simple reality is that if you're forming any kind of definitive opinion of any of them based on the kind of nonsense LW has been serving up, then that's on you. It may be the case that Yates, Vip, Bianchini, Eom or whoever will ultimately prove themselves to be lacking. The point is that none of them have had anything even remotely approaching competent management during their time here.

A fair comment. The players you mentioned have been driving me potty. At times I've questioned their ability whilst also questioning whether we were playing to their strengths or playing in a way that could play to anyone's strengths. We'll see how things work out with Sheehan but he appears to have far more of an idea of how to use the players at his disposal.

Let’s be sensible about this. Vipotnik doesn’t get off Scot free since August just because Luke Williams has been abysmal since Christmas. Imposing yourself on the game, competing physically and demanding the ball should all be givens, regardless of who is in charge or what tactics they play. They are fundamentals, not something a manager should need to install. He did all three yesterday. People have been saying all season that we don’t create enough for him, first time he plays his part, he gets two on a plate. It’s not coincidence. Huge credit for yesterday though. As for the others, Yates seems to have done ok at Derby, not well enough that we’d be interested in buying him if he wasn’t already our player, but he’s scored goals and seems valued up there. Kukharevych has failed so far in Scotland. Bianchini I like. Not sure if he’s better out wide, but a decent option either way. Eom just looks like he can’t get to grips with the pace and intensity. He’s certainly talented. However we look at it (and Luke Williams has certainly been a massive problem since the West Brom thing) recruitment up front has been more miss than hit and needs to improve substantially.

If we had been giving him anything like the support he had yesterday all season and he still wasn't cutting it then I'd probably be damning him also. You may be right that he's ultimately not good enough, but I certainly don't blame him for his struggles under Williams any more than I blamed our defence for regularly conceding stupid goals under Martin because I understood that they weren't being coached very well. Next few games will tell us a lot more. Fresh start for him. As indeed it is for all of our players. [Post edited 23 Feb 18:26]

Indeed He's a better player than what we've seen so far. IMO They get well paid for their efforts but I doubt any of them have enjoyed their job of late

Forwards have to read the game and have a good understanding with the players around him so he has a good idea where the ball is going to end up in the box and adapt as necessary their movement often makes th space for the pass into the box or gives the player on the ball the time he needs to be effective. The lack of movement can kill a move stone dead. One and two touch football when needed yesterday and knowing when or when not to hold onto the ball too long. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

It's another bery telling stat for me, I went back through the previous 4 games, Coventry, Sheff Weds, Bristol and Stoke and Sky credited us with 5 clear cut chances in total. Yesterday they credited us with 6. More clear cut chances in one match under Sheehan than the previous 4 under Williams. In 2 of Williams games we didn't even manage a single clear cut chance. So no, it can't be a coincidence that in one game we create 6 clear cut chances and win and then in 4 games we manage 5 clear cut chances and win only once. It's also not a coincidence that we scored 3 and it should have been more, in my opinion.
