Can't see a match thread, so here goes.

Absolutely awful start. Our full backs are all over the place.

The trouble is McNulty is doubling down on a system that doesnt work, all the chuckle brothers '" to me .. to you" football between Landell and Nevitt does is allow opposition teams to set up at the back. Its entirely predictable and pedestrian, time and time again our forwards were trying to make runs with no ball released towards them. There is also a distinct lack of basic professionalism, Mitchell bottled a challenge at the end which had he stuck a leg out, he would have been first to the ball and would have produced a clear penalty with their keeper sliding out of control , but he clearly didnt fancy it. Uchegbulam, has no idea about tracking back to support his fullback , both their goals came down our left hand side, a constant theme all season which hasnt been addressed...
And how Gordon is keeping Keohane out of the team is a complete mystery, Hayes was simply not getting released soon enough and consequently had 2 men on him when a quicker ball out would have put him on his bike and 1 on 1. It seems fullbacks are not allowed to feed ther wingers and are under orders to recycle into midfield.

Clearly a challenge for the playoffs has vanished, and losing 4 on the trot is poor. This poor form has to stop before it becomes endemic, it should have stopped today at 1-1, there were fresh legs on the bench and they should all have been used to shore up the defence, a draw , given the opposition , form and weather would have been a good result, losing again was very very poor. As Keith Hill said, " make sure you dont lose 3 on the trot"... well , better not make it 5 on the trot Jim or else the deluge from the roof of the main stand will become the motif for the whole season.. down the drain.....

The thing that annoyed me most was the HT tactical changes: the first half was a different, quicker approach, spreading the play and widening the pitch. Balls were played in behind the defence for Jez to chase (which he did far more effectively than usual) and we got the ball into the box and dangerous areas. This stifled Solihull to some extent and kept us in the game.

2nd half, we inexplicably reverted to type and played crap, created nothing with the usual slow, aimless passing. Wide players weren't used and the midfield was overrun.

Why did Jim change something that was working fine?

We are 10 points off a playoff place and 6 points off relegation. we have the 2nd worst form in the division over the last 5 games and are on a dire losing streak. Our home for is as bad as it has been over the previous 6 seasons. in which we haven't won more than 8 times in 23 attempts. Any initiative to bring fans through the doors is being completely destroyed by the football on the pitch.
The Chairman needs to read the riot act to everyone at Platt Lane on Monday morning, 9 O'clock sharp, no excuses. Sometimes, there have to be home truths, this is one of them . with 14 games left we need to be targeting 2 points per game and 6 more home wins. Anything less and McNulty and the rest can look for new jobs. Its sh*t or bust time.

Someone "needs to read the riot act" I totally agree with that however, defiantly not the Chairman, his communication skills are that of a snobbish, pompous and out of touch £wa£ which will rub the players and management up the wrong way and only make matters worse - we require someone of the calibre of a Churchillian "fight them on the beaches " you know someone you'd have in your trench sadly, that isn't Mr Gauge!
Who then, sadly we don't seem to have anyone !

Last saturday was first for me during a football season where I have not even bothered to find the full time result on any media format imediately after the final whistle...
Infact I did not even bother until late sunday afternoon until the missus asked if the had lost again, infact it says something when your significant other half comes up with that comment.
Not even the post match youtube video crossed my mind and warranted my attention or sundays match highlights...

This is how I feel at the moment but it is just not the way the team are playing it is everything Dale wise and i fear with the current club chairperson and the directors the club is rudderless ship steaming towards the iceberg...
I will do my bit and purchase some of those shares with the rest of the 200+ supporters made available but even that is not enough..

What really got my goat was the shortage of passing to our wideouts in the first half. Their FBs were playing very narrow and Jes/Hayes were very loosely marked, if at all, for most of the first half and Jim didn't tell our players to maximise the room we were being given.

I suspect SM would have compensated had we gone all out, and indeed did in the second half, when the back 4 played much more spread out. We could have been ahead by then though, had we tried to exploit the opportunity.

This lad will never get a game for us. Two forward passes in one move.

Up the Dale - NOT for sale!
