Russian thread 15:35 - Oct 2 with 18898 views | Sirjohnalot | Hi all I’ve taken the decision to ban Controversial Jack and deleted the thread. This was my decision, I tried to keep the debate up for as long as possible but it got increasingly bizarre and for the good of the site, I removed it. My decision, any criticism is on me not Keith.

Russian thread on 17:43 - Oct 2 by Togg | I'm only a small time poster on here but I found some of his posts sickening. Total and utter Russian lying propaganda. He would believe this authoritarian bull over a western press. Yes the western press isn't ideal but it's far from controlled. Then the bits which he would make up . I think he mentioned once that Stalin had only killed a million people. Ukrainians have been displaced, murdered, brutalised and had their country occupied. However he used this as a points scoring exercise for his warped political agenda. Just an insignificant Russian fan boy. I would like to thank Dean for well and truly putting him in his place. Also thanks John ......great decision. |
If you think the mainstream media isn’t controlled - how come the truth is now coming out about the Covid vaccines after such heinous suppression of any opposing view? Come on I’m dying to hear this .

Russian thread on 22:39 - Oct 2 by Brynmill_Jack | So no alternative opinions are welcome in the Swansea Independent echo chamber? That doesn’t surprise me but let’s just state a few facts . 1. NATO encroachment into Eastern Europe. Michael Gorbachev was promised that NATO “would not shift one foot eastwards on condition that the eastern block disbanded along with the Soviet Union. He was lied to. Irrefutable fact. 2. Russia has never harboured any hostility towards Ukraine - however after the 2014 revolution (sponsored by the likes of Victoria Nuland) presented a real danger to Russian speaking or Ethnic Russian people throughout Ukraine. The Donbass felt this after being continually shelled for 8 years (also irrefutable ). If this means debate is shut down then that is very sad . The Covid argument was neatly shut down but the vaccines have been found to be not what they seemed to be. What if this is an act of NATO aggression which has prompted a Russian reaction? Does anyone really believe the west, recent history considered - is whiter than white? |
let me state a couple of facts to you, in 1991 Ukraine voted overwhelmingly to become independent , over 92% voted in favour, and with it over 55% of ethnic Russians voted to become part of an Independent sovereign state which was recognised not only by the west but by Russia itself .You conveniently omitted the fact that the Russian army overtly invaded eastern Ukraine to support the rebel separatists who were not happy with the way Ukraine was heading, a free nation making its own decision despite Yanukovych ( a pro russian puppet who finally was ousted ) trying his best to keep Ukraine from becoming closer to the EU than to Russia . You say Russia has never shown any hostility towards Ukraine , you're having laugh , the way they annexed Crimea was a criminal act in itself ,massing thousands of troops on the border then actually crossing over to take over . You can bitch and moan all you like but you me and the world know s whos at fault for this , a short aresed megalomaniac whos dream is to reinstate the so called glory years of the USSR , as pointed out before everytime Putin approval rating was falling he came up with some false hood to regain his popularity usually by invading another ex soviet country on the pretext of protecting its citizens (Georgia ) . As we're seeing now as then in Crimea illegal referendums with no basis towards fact on the results justified in Putins head and his sycophants that the cause was just.

CJ was posting total lies (which he knew were lies) and was pretending that Russians weren't commiting mass war crimes in Ukraine despite absolutely overwhelming evidence including mass graves/mutilated bodies, witness reports, video footage, Russian Telegram chats and actual video admissions from Russians who were not POWs and not just saying it under duress. Along with yourself he also peddled all the Kremlin lines about this war and the Kremlin that invaded, tortured, killed etc etc and lied over and over. I mean in this very post you are STILL posting absolute nonsense, for example your insistence, despite being told previously, that there was a 'danger to Russian speaking people throughout Ukraine' (Ukrainians commonly speak/spoke Russian throughout Ukraine without any issues at all including my friends in Kyiv. I.e. speaking Russian there was the norm). I've been there with them and know first hand. As for your rubbish about promises to Gorbachev....he HIMSELF disagrees.... https://www.brookings.edu/blog/up-front/2014/11/06/did-nato-promise-not-to-enlar And as for the lazy Kremlin line about Ukraine 'shelling for 8 years', I'm glad you left out your previous rubbish about Ukraine supposedly 'killing 14,000 of its own people' which was statistically proven to be another lie. Reality is that in war people die and people died after Russia first invaded in 2014. Sadly when civilian deaths in Ukraine were down to barely 25 per year (for a few years prior to 2022), Russia then invaded fully, taking the civilian death toll into the tens of thousands (probably in reality 100k+). In a nutshell, just like CJ, you like to lie about Ukraine/Russia a lot. And it is deliberate. You're perhaps slightly less blatant than CJ but definitely no less sinister. I know if it were up to me both of you would have been banned a long time ago but I'm not a mod and I'll respect whatever decisions they make (even if I'm blunt about what I think). Personally I don't think there should be any place for blatant Kremlin propaganda on any Swansea City forum. Anyway. Good to see Russian military channels in total panic again tonight after the defeats in and around Lyman and now big defeats and retreats near Kherson. Apparently Ukraine are surpising everyone with how quickly they are moving in on the Kherson Oblasts. Vlad has left his troops with shoddy equipment and little motivation to fight. Who would have thought that an army defending it's homeland against an invader would have more heart than the invader who've been sent there against their will by a corrupt dictatorship? Hm. What Gorbachev was promised is irrelevant. The moment these nations were liberated from the Soviet Union they were free to do as they liked. Russia had no control or power over them whatsoever. But Putin believes they still do. And the only reason these countries wanted to join NATO in the first place is to protect themselves from facing the same sort of “special military operation” we are seeing now. Why else would they want to join NATO? There are no other benefits. “NATO encroachment”? These nations had a free choice. They could have entered into a similar defensive agreement with Russia instead. Why didn’t they I wonder? Why do nearly all the ex soviet states in Europe want to distance themselves as much as they can from the Kremlin and have as little to do with mother Russia as they possibly can?

Brynnie would have preferred the Soviet Union to win the Cold War. Not much else to it. That he cannot distinguish the murderous Communist Russia of the time from the murderous Fascist Russia of today is his own problem, but one not uncommon amonst the extreme left.

Oh you are definitely bitching, you're absolutely without doubt wrong. Otherwise how do you explain the illegal siezing of Crimea and the sponsoring and military suppot of the Russian seperatists. Those Seperatists by the way were the reason for the shelling in 2014. Immediately after Euromaidan those seperatists started protesting, armed groups siezed government buildings which led to the conflict with Ukrainian government forces. That is an irrefutable fact. Then what about thr pro Russian Neo nazi's that fight in Ukraine, dismissing the idea that this was about ridding Ukraine of neo Nazis. But we've been through this time and again and you continue with this narrative. Nobody has claimed the West is whiter than white ans indeed, I accept that part of Putins reason for invading was Ukraine being courted by the EU and their wanting to join NATO. None of it excuses what they have done though and while they are reasons, none of them are acceptable to any decent, civilised person. Ukraine is an independent, sovereign state with every right to make its own decisions, or do you disagree?

Eastern countries have a lot of good things about them. Ukraine was a stunning place and no doubt much of Russia is too. And like you say, the women are often beautiful. Quite different to most Western countries it has to be said. But sadly the Russian population now are largely brainwashed (mainly the elder population) and they're ruled by a dictatorship. It will take a long time for Russia to be thought of in any positive light after this. I know people who lived in Russia and loved it and I know they have friends who stayed and wished they had gotten out before the 2022 invasion begun. I wonder if those that stayed are being drafted to fight now.
