Preview doesn't mention Millar, their winger on loan from Liverpool, who my Charlton supporting mate says is a very good player and could cause us problems. He plays on the left, but is right footed.

Obsessive over thinking alert! Would playing Mclaughlin on the left and him cutting inside work better than Done at LB? Done could then play further up field. Obvs then lose our best RB because he would be playing in LB position. I'd guess it has been tried in training and hasn't worked.

It's not over-thinking, James.
Our left-back's primary role is to defend, rather than "cutting inside" as we attack.
We've no idea if it has or hasn't been tried in training (my guess - it hasn't), but if McLaughlin is available, I'd expect to see him in his correct position.

Not my daftest of suggestions. Yes I am using a spurious YouTube video as evidence.

Roberts getting another shot at left back? Hasn't impressed me there to be honest.
Not sure it's where he wants to play either. However if Osho has a good game with EOC it may be his best chance of staying in the team. Bench starting to look stronger now. Beesley must have had a bad gash if he is still out ( any update?)

No and Done has done quite well last two games. Understand the move though, so it’s up to Roberts to illustrate he can be an option there now as he may struggle to get in at centre half if the others stay fit.

A bit surprised that Dooley has held his place. But let’s see. The bench has been transformed. Could easily see 3 plus subs come on today. UTD
Dooley has played well recently to be fair to him.
Interesting to see if it is O'Connell and Osho as the centre back pairing. Both right footed I believe and the way we want to play out from the back it might not be as balanced as usual.
Surprised James hasn't mentioned we could be playing with three at the back 😂

Dooley's performances may have improved from a low point, but i'd be a bit annoyed if i were Newby after his brace which won us the last game

Think the choice was between Newby and Baah with the latter chosen for the impact he had on Charlton and Gunter in particular last time. Dooley then adds a bit more in terms of steadiness and team structure on the other side. Can see BBM’s thinking, and Newby will offer a good option off the bench.

1-0 Charlton. Played into the feet of their forward who turns both Osho & EOC & slots home
