Swansea City winger Joel Asoro has joined Dutch top-flight club Groningen on a season-long loan, subject to international clearance. The Sweden Under-21 international links up with the Eredivisie side, who finished eighth last season.The 20-year-old made the move to the Swans from Sunderland last summer on a four-year deal, and went on to make 17 first-team appearances during the 2018-19 campaign.
He scored his first goal in Swansea colours in the pre-season win at Bristol Rovers. He joins Jefferson Montero (Birmingham City), Gregor Zabret (Oldham Athletic), Courtney Baker-Richardson (Accrington Stanley) and Joe Lewis (Torquay United) in heading out on loan. Potter was not picking Asiri and Mackay through choice Routkedge was not really available to him.once Routledgeagreed to forego that clause at his request he was almost ever present.so it was not Potter has he had one arm tied behind his back. He has had lots of critics for jumping ship as many here say he knew what he was coming to regarding transfers but was he told that whilst transfers in were very unlikely he also wouldn't be allowed to play several senior squad members | |
