Decent performance overall and one to take into the big one next week. 21:06 - Mar 31 with 7058 views | TheResurrection | I've seen some moaning about the first half but that was our game plan, to contain, but not just that, that WAS our best chance to get anything from the game. Unfortunately for us we caught Man U on a going day and they were clinical early doors. Their first goal was just a good goal, no nit picking needed for that one although they did get a bit of luck with the finish. The second goal was a bit sloppy but it came after we'd opted to try and get in the game a bit more. I said to the Mrs after that it was always unlikely we were going to get anything from this game anyway, and the best we could hope for was to try and get on the ball more and see if we could play our way into the game to take into next week. And that's just what we did, albeit I didn't expect Tammy and Carroll to have such impressive halves, and that's another positive to take out of today. Carroll was excellent when he came on at Newcastle and I thought he was again today. I wouldn't start him next week, although I don't know how Clucas and Ki will be, but he's a decent option to come on a bit more fired up. I know United were pretty comfortable all game, I'm not making our performance to be anything different than it was, but it will have done the players good to have come off the pitch with a decent second half showing, and let's face it, we probably deserved a goal. The other thing I have noted is Carlos has taken our foot off the gas in the last 2 games, I feel. That's Spurs in the Cup and today. I feel he's used them to just get by knowing there's truer battles ahead. This starts all this week in training in readiness for Saturday. You will see us all guns blazing next week i'm guessing.

Decent performance overall and one to take into the big one next week. on 14:37 - Apr 1 by TheResurrection | What an utter shit post, fair play. So had De Gea not pulled off two top class saves we'd have been right back in it. Listen to Mourinho complaining about their second half performance. That should say it all. |
Laughable. It’s not like de Gea has never made a save for them before. If Mata, Lingard, Sanchez, Lukaku had not missed sitters it would have been 5-0 at half time. It’s all ifs, buts & maybes. Whichever way you look at it 2-0 flattered us surely you can see that ?

We weren't very adventurous in the first half and yeah, OK, let's call it poor. But if you're going to throw all the ifs and buts around then that works both ways doesn't it. When it was 2 nil and when we were very much in the game, the better side I think it would be fair to say, we had two excellent chances, and had it not been for the best keeper in the world arguably, then we'd have been back in it. But if you feel better just slagging off everything about the club, its manager, players, Chairman and whatever else, you carry on. That's definitely the theme these days and unfortunately it's mostly the older lot, over 40's, it's become part of being a Swans fan for them, to slag off at every opportunity and moan like fack.... .....and why? Mostly because we had success previously. Yeah. That's facking it. Pathetic.

It does seem to be the older lot complain all the time though Clive They have become so entitled and why, because they watched us in the 80's in the shit grounds and because we had success in getting to the Premier League. We're still there but this isn't enough for these f#cking martyrs and Saints.

martyrs and Saints. Trying to work out which one I've been over the years. Plenty of ups and downs and even though we are in the top division, this is one of the downs. Then again many reasons, if we stay up then we do need an overhaul, if we go down then so be it, still the team to support though

This isn't one of the downs at all. Going to places like Old Trafford, beating Liverpool and Arsenal at home to kick start a fantastic run of form. It's football, it's not a bed of roses and we've no divine right to be in this league, far from it with our history. We're watching a brilliant game of football with true world stars on right now. Chelsea and Spurs, we're in the same league as them. People should just let that sink in now and again.

You can have downs whatever division you are in. Not comparing the downs with the lower divisions. We are where we are in this division not because of what we have achieved against the top clubs but what we haven't against teams around us. Of course we don't have a devine right to be in this league, and we are here on merit, history at this time means nothing. Let's hope that we do turn up for the remaining games. That's all I ask as a supporter whichever division we are in. Now this over 40 thing, could the same be said for new dads?

It can be for anyone, even the young, but I said it's mostly the over 40's as in my generation and older. The ones that for some strange reason feel hard done by... And anyway, to respond to your reference of me, I'm not like that. I treasure every minute in this league after waiting another lifetime to get here again. This is a privilege and an honour, not a birthright.

You called it a decent performance. I said that 2-0 flattered us. Two people with different opinions. You really must stop stamping your feet like a petulant schoolchild when somebody disagrees with you because that really is pathetic mate. If supporters want to say what they they think about the club that’s up to them whether you agree or not. I can see why people are venting their views of the way the club has been managed the last few years. Is it really any worse than the way it was run by Doug Sharpe or Struel before him? Well everyone is entitled to their view. I just happen to think that the club has not learnt lessons when it said it would learn. Dishing out contracts to players way past their sell by date, increasing wages year on year but squad weaker than 3 seasons ago. That’s not slagging the club off at every opportunity it’s just stating facts & questioning the poor decisions made by the club. You keep your head buried if that works for you. We do agree on one thing though, WBA is a huge game for us

I see, but at this moment in time there are 5 teams below us, 3 of them look in critical condition. Let's hope Carlos keeps us going to the end and then we will hopefully be celebrating our 8th season in the EPL, and that would make us the 8th longest serving EPL Club member. Now remind me again, who are you to say mistakes have been made, who would I be, who would anyone?? That is one hell of an achievement and Swans fans should be shouting it from the rooftops and extremely proud. All this shit of this is the second time we've had an escape? Does that really matter? This is Stoke, Soton and West Brom's first and they look doomed. What i've written above isn't an opinion by the way, if things pan out like that, they would be hard cold facts. 7 Cup finals to go so do us a favour and try and support your team FFS instead of nit picking like some big facking Jessie.

No, it was an utter shit. He didn't say 2-0 flattered us, he came up with this attack... ""Now I have been to Old Trafford on a few occasions always with hope as underdogs that we could achieve something as we always had some quality that could get us a goal Bony, Michu, Sigurdsson etc. Yesterday (just like previous occasions with better players at our disposal) our main tactic was to contain. Once we fell behind in reality the whole day became about damage limitation. So if you call holding out for 2-0 damage limitation defeat a decent performance, good on you. Let’s hope we can take some confidence from surviving 70mins without conceding a goal. I can’t take much confidence with me to WBA knowing that the likes of VdH, Clucas, Dyer & Naughton will be starting"" Like I said - shit.

Now to really hammer home how shit it was and to really put it into context, a team, who sit 2nd in the Premier League on 68 points (bear in mind previously a team has won the league on 75 points) only behind the greatest ever team to grace this league turn in their BEST performance of the season...... But instead of just holding our hands up and conceding that it was always going to be tough when a super team like that turn up and decide to have a real go - oh no - some of our fans want to look to rip their home town club apart, really look to be aa negative as fack, REALLY go to town and slaughter SCFC until they've really made their point.... That's great innit? No, that's just SHIT.
