Started the Wigan away one and not seen one for tonight.

No idea on starting line up as no idea who is fit but we need Lynch or Caulker back in to partner Hall tonight IMO.

I would line up 4231 as we are a counter attacking side and Newcastle will come at us so actually thinks that may work for us tonight.

That is a really good question.

Newcastle have been pretty poor the last 15 mins. Not scoring an extra 2 goals and all. Poor show, no effort.

not even a consolation goal... that really is poor. Teams always give up on defending and usually always concede breakaway goal towards the end.

And we have yet to score a goal in open play after 7 games,, which is possibly more worrying than conceding 6 to a strong team in a 1 off game..

I feel your pain.

I literally don't think I can cope with our fans much longer.

We moan about our teams and managers doing the same things over and over and not learning, and yet we are repeating last season pretty much beat for beat.

Yes this is a shit result and embarrassing. We'll get over it. Quicker than we'll get over yet another period of wrist-slitting, booing, manager sacking and the team rebuilding that the new guy will need.
Nothing improved after last year's witchhunt and sackings. Why would we assume doing it again will do the trick? At some point we have try to bite the bullet and ride out a rough patch, even if it's a long one.

I do agree. This is a bit rough though. I'm not at the match and I'm a bit chafed, I imagine the folks who went feel positively violated.

I agree so much, what depress me most is not the result, it is the inevitable reaction of all the sack everyone brigade that is always so vociferous after a bad result

He wont and shouldn't be sacked, I would hope he'd learn from tonight's result though.

Agreed Ted. He's a promising young manager - needs to (a) accept responsibility, (b) apologise to the fans who were there and (c) learn from the experience and, importantly, do something about it!

Jonjo Shelvey = Mini Me's uglier brother.

Bit of a bugger this result. Still, on the bright side Mel and Sue are leaving Bake Off, so you know, swings and roundabouts.

It would be great to find out that we have a manager capable of a) learning and b) doing something about it......... that would be great, that would make things so much more interesting, and hopeful.

I could only listen to the first half. And it sounded like we were totally outclassed. If the second half was similar, I'm not sure what you can learn from it. Sometimes you have to hold your hands up and admit we were not (are not?) good enough to beat a top side when they are on form.

Changing players, managers, formation really don't make that much difference when there is a gilf in class.
