PEH/JWP, you can't polish a turd! As others have said, dreadfull defence, toothless attack and as for the midfield? If there are two players slower in thought and deed than PEH and JWP then i've not yet seen them. Horrible as it is to admit, we are now no better than under Hughes. Not sure where we go from here, but if i were not a season tickrt holder i would not fork out £40 for the next game.

I wish I could say I was surprised. I think we all were expecting a kicking. We certainly got that. Chelsea are far from the finished article but they are a heck of a lot better than us.

Dreadful. No fight, no pace, no creativity, no ideas. Defence is like a sandcastle, collapses against any incoming tide.
As for JWP, what on earth does he offer. Don't mention set pieces. How many goals do we score from. Why on earth is he undroppable. No wonder nobody has tried to buy him in the last 2 years. Understood Eastleigh wanted him on loan but realised all they had much better midfielders.
Adams looks like a duck out of water at the moment, he appears to be going backwards. Redmond was clueless.
Hojbjerg offers nothing.
Ings works his socks off with no service. Even Long looked to have given up.
Going to drown my sorrows ahead of a long long season.

Firstly Gunn should be replaced next game along with JWP and the midfield is slower than molasses, we offer no threat from there at all.Valery ok going forward but dreadful getting back into defense as the 3rd goal showed he was more in the middle and out of position so many times. No one came away from this game except lngs with any credit even RH has lost the plot, subs on way to late it looked like the last 3 yrs all over again.
What JWP does to earn his place befuddles me maybe he has something on RH because he can play like crap every week but he still makes the lineup.Very dissatisfied again and it's becoming a habit again.

Oh dear! I don't think I've seen a poorer Saints performance since the capitulation at Anfield two years ago. I was worried to see Boufal on the bench as the midfield is hard-working but not creative. JWP and PEH were both very poor today giving the ball away so many times but also not being able to move it quickly. Romeu did okay but there were also no options and so the ball went backwards or square far too often. Teams like City, Chelsea, Spurs and Liverpool play out of defence well, using the keeper to pass back and forth, draw the forwards on to them and then take them out of the game with a clever pass upfield. We can't do it and always look nervy and like we're going to lose the ball - today we did, almost every time. And then we resort to hoofing it up the field and instantly losing possession as big centre backs tidy it up.
Today, Long played with his usual effort and speed and won a lot of headers but there was never anyone there to get hold of them.
Twice at 3-1, Gunn got the ball and with some swift movement two or three players could have been open but the whole team just sauntered out and he had no one in space to give it to. And throw-ins... For the last three or four seasons we seem to have become incapable of making anything out of a throw-in. How often do we see Bertrand or Valery/Cedric just standing there waiting for someone to give them something?
The real shame of it today was that for the first 10-15 minutes we were in their faces, rattling the defence and winning the ball more often than not and a good effort by Redmond (not such a good one from PEH - as soon as he lined himself up it was just a question of just how high it would go). Then JWP gave the ball away and they pop down and get the lucky first. It completely took any wind out of Saints' sails and from that minute the game was always lost.
It must be time for Armstrong to get a run of games and prove one way or another if he's up to it - and Boufal may be a luxury player but at least he tries things and his attitude this season has been exemplary.
Che Adams looks out of his depth and in the earlier games this season he seems to fall behind play and not be in the middle for a cross. I really hope he doesn't turn out to be another Charlie Austin.
Sorry for the waffle but needed to unload a bit.
Horrible game to watch while suffering a major hangover.

RH, the "Austrian Klopp"... the "Austrian Flop" more like. Devoid of ideas, weird selections, continually backing poor players (JWP, EH). Once again we are left with Season-long fight hoping that there are 3 worst teams.

Its getting as bad as it was when Rupert Lowe was here. No top class players and to many young kids.
