We played as a team..everything worked but some players deserve special mention.

Targett was superb in the first half, Davis immense in the second. I have to say Clasie's passing was the weak link. he kept on passing backwards and when he did pass forwards he missed 3 golden chances to set up attacks in succession mid way through the first half. I was impressed by his defensive work and with Fonte marshalling Ighalo superbly and VVD cutting out the crosses we looked really solid at the back. Long took his goal rally well, ran his heart out and looked exhausted at the end. Cedric was great in the first half.

I agree with the comments that we should have had more, Mane (twice) and Long missed golden chances and Davies superbly taken goal was not offside, it should have been 4 at least. Why can't we play like that every week!

Great all round display, plus l predicted 3-0 so feeling pretty good about the way Saints are playing right now. Also the signing of Charlie Austin for a steal of a price gives us a lot better feeling going forward. As l said a great team performance from everyone and that looks good for the rest of the season.
Would like to give a special shout out to Steven Davis what a work rate he puts in week after week,to me man of the match, could of been several others also.Coyr.

I wondered whether the Austin announcement is the sweetener before they give us the bitter pill.
As for today, I felt sorry for Romeu who didn't deserve to lose his place, albeit that Wanyama played well enough. Fabulous free-kick and penalty from JWP. Outstanding performance from Van Dijk, closely followed by Cedric and Long (for effort). Davies understandably faded in the second half. Only downsides for me was Fraser passing short to Fonte on a couple of occasions (why do that and risk compromising him?) and the leniency of an otherwise decent referee. A couple of the WBA names should have been in his book.

Another great performance from Targett. It is an inspired tactical swich by Koeman to playing this 3,5,3 which creates space for him and Cedic to play higher up the park.

Agree with above comments, and if Austin is a 'sweetner' for Pelle going to Juve it doesn't bother me in the slightest. He beats Pelle on many aspects, speed, shooting, skill and most importantly is so much better re: goals/shots ratio. This is a problem saints have.. we are a seriously creative team and all too often play other teams off the park for long periods but don't score as many as we should. I have a sneaky feeling Austin might solve this.

whatever a great week...totally changed the atmosphere around the club. Now we every chance of repeating last years results at Man U.

JWP scoring 2 goals or do I have double vision??!

Have to echo most the above. Great team performance.Davis Man of the Match for me. Long great game too. Targett is playing well and seems to play better further forward where he doesn't get caught out with his lack of pace tracking back. For me, his lack of pace is his Achilles heel.

West Brom are no pushovers. They keep it tight but we thoroughly bossed them. Great show.

Only downside for me is Mane's lack of goals. He's been in some great positions recently and fluffed it. No taking our chances is what has put us in trouble. Hopefully with the signing of Austin, things will improve. As for Pelle, I am a fan of his and I think a lot of his work goes unnoticed. He does gives us another option. Can I see him staying beyond the end of the season though, no.

If we put in some solid performances now and remain tough to beat in the next couple of games, I'll feel a lot more positive is us kicking on from here.

C'mon lads!

Two in a week and no defeats. There was a time this season when lying 10th would have been regarded as failure but today it looks a lot like we are moving in the right direction sat last. If only we can do a job on Manure next week!

Sadio is right out of sorts at the moment and needs an arm around his shoulders, he always looks dangerous but close marking seems to knock his game out of its stride. No end product is becoming a worry.

Matt Targett, is he becoming the new Gareth Bale? Both started as left backs and with Matt in his new position looking like a new player one wonders if he'll end up as a true winger. His remarkable improvement makes him hard to leave on the bench. He looks a better bet than JWP at becoming our next home grown player to become a genuine star. One downside of his new found success is that we have lost Ryan's s scintillating runs down to the bye-line

The 3-5-2 system is working really well. Mane not scoring but at least getting into situations where he can shoot. Not able to give Forster a high mark yet because he hasn't had much to do. Long may it continue.
