First viewing of the new look Rangers I spent a lot of time trying to get to know the new players and it seemed they need time to get to know each other. The team as a result seem to lack confidence in each other. Play was very fragmented and we just hoofed it up field at every opportunity. Cardiff were a little better but much...by half time I had neck ache from constantly looking up ! We went ahead against run of play and scored second with a hand ball assist so very lucky...at 2 up we gained confidence for a short while but soon came under pressure and you could see them scoring. It was a sickener to concede in 89 minute.....Was not impressed with perch or konchesky...both phillips and JET and Charlie should have wrapped it up with good chances....think we will see a lot of these type of games this season .... But think we will get better as season progresses.

It's all been said. The only bright spark I think is Romeu who looks a proper footballer. Now we know why we kept Schneiderlein last season, boy do we and Wanyama miss him, also Clyne and Alderwerald to a lesser extent. Last year our defence was outstanding with a massive positive goal difference, after 2 games we have let in 5 and are minus 3. Get the cheque book out Les.

No creative midfield.running around like headless chickens.do we want to win a game of football,or are we happy not losing?
Great performance from Walsall and their manager dean smith.they will finish higher than us guaranteed.change of midfield personnel required.

FFS, we've lost one game out of four and just been beaten by a side who have won at Nottingham Forest and Southend in the last week.

Talk about over-reaction.

Think that KH picked a team not to lose. With Bennett in a forward position the midfield had no flair going forward and we lacked the pace and zest of the previous two home games. At times we had 6 men in our final 3rd when we were supposedly on the attack!! Don't know why Allessandro is on the bench as KH seems to have no intention of playing him - preferring JB and CA and the ball continuously in the air.On the subject of Hendo - he looks like a player with his mind somewhere else (Barnsley?)

Very much a work in progress. Players should take some time out to get to know each other. Romeu looks to be quite decent. Belle worked his socks off. Lots of huff and puff from JWP but what's the use of a midfielder who can't tackle. Takes good corners 'though and the Caulker goal was legal.

First have was very pedestrian for our part. Too slow in moving the ball which allowed the opposition to sit back soak up any chances. Was disappointing to concede a goal when we did. Second half we played better, moved the ball quicker and seemed to have more intensity about us which should have been there from the start.

Thought Caulker's goal was legit, Congrats to J-Rod took the penalty well after been left to wait to take it. Targett had a better game last night, JWP actually had some good crosses / corners / free kicks last night. Mane was jinking around as usual, Romeu had a good game but may have suffered a little from picking up an early booking. Bic Vic had a poor game I thought.

Best prize of the night though goes to Midtjylland for time wasting...

Not sure what's up with us at the start of games at the moment. That's three games in a row now where we've been pretty poor in the opening 45.
Overall we weren't terrible but that's only because the opposition were pretty limited. To be fair Midtjylland had a game plan and it worked. Actually reminded me of some games we struggled in last season where the opposition put up two banks of four that stifled our attacks (e.g. West Brom). Good West Brom-esque time-wasting from Midtjylland too.
Here's where Ron and co earn their money, as we need another plan for the second leg other than lump it up to Pelle (who was excellent by the way).

Lastly, Fonte. Don't know what's happening with him but hope he can get some form back. Thought Yoshida had a better game than him, even playing massively out of position at RB

Unsure about Caulker, got a good goal looked a threat and seemed solid. But kep t launching the ball forward. I hope that wasnt his instructions and that he can develope into a player that can make and recieve a simple pass. If he can he willbe class if not he will limit the rest of the team.

Sadio Mané, Oriol Romeu looked class and I have rated Yoshida quite highly because he was out of possition but very solid. He has a good understanding with Fonte and nothing looked like troubling the pair of them down the right. He was completly toothless going forward, but then he IS a CB

JWP just isnt good enough

Steks kicking superb, Maya gets the blame for defensive midfield frailties, Caulker improving, Long off-day, Mane became more assertive as they tired, but so did he, Juanmi came on in the centre and we decided to go wide at that point. JWP & Pelle joint MOTM.
