I was expecting to hear sleigh bells this Christmas but now it has morphed into alarm bells...

What a shocker of a match. We were poor all over the pitch, lacked drive, motivation, no creativity. No speed or urgency about the passing and movement. Forster flapping at crosses again, Mane hacking down players. Ill discipline throughout the team last night. Now big Vic & Morgan missing for Saturday. Gardos sent off. What a horror!

It seemed we really lacked a leader last night.

Where have our team gone?? Confidence is down the toilet at the moment and you'd wonder when the next win or even clean sheet is going to come.

Am worried and frustrated!!

Wow, watching that was horrible...

In fact Koeman should bring Boruc back. He's a genius making 2 horrendous mistakes a year. Forster's average and makes significantly more of them...

Mane - as an Austrian I was just wondering why... Didn't like him at Salzburg (saw at least 15 games featuring him), now I like him even less... Kampl would have been the far better choice to buy, but even there would be some doubt about the physicality... Embarassing...
And then we have to substitute him and bring Mayuka who's even worse...

I hope noone will ask any more for Gardos to play over Yoshida... Yoshida at least works hard and tries even if he's not getting everything right. Gardos is slow, weak in positioning and unable to properly pass the ball (how could he ever play DM?).

Isgrove... Oh my god, he's just not up to it - and you can see he'll never ever be... At 22 he's not a talent any more. He's just way off...

JWP - him getting injured months ago was finally nothing too bad for the team - only featuring in the win at West Ham, the Swansea-game was won when he was already off. Way off in a physical way and so he is playing just for dead balls as he has nothing else to offer (as an offensive midfielder in the centre of the park!!!!) .

Bertrand is no midfielder.

And then there's the question of resting(?? what should he be tired of?) Alderweireld - while playing both DM with 4 yellow cards. Just to get sure that we don't have any chance on saturday.
Hopefully Davis will get back - otherwise I guess I'll bet my car (ain't got a house) on Everton to win this...

Having said that I have to praise Long - as he worked very hard and went for every header, though he is a very limited player. As for Fonte, he's at least committed...

Frustrating night - that showed us that we need Tadic and Pelle - even if they're far from their best...

Frustrating, annoying, agree with most if not all comments...but I want to say that I have not witnessed so much racial abuse at a ground in years.

I didn't travel or sit with the away fans as I was up in sheffield collecting my daughter from University and went with her as a last minute decision. We were sat in the south stand (row k) behind the United dug out and the language from home fans of all ages/genders towards Clyne, Wanyama, Mane, Betrand, Mayuka was unbelievable. Thought I had gone back to the 70's.

Said nothing as an away fan sat amongst veciferous home fans with my daughter and even afterwards said nothing to stewards who were very friendly with some of the main culprits.

I takeaway one bright spot from the night, at least my club has moved on from the past and is multicultural...SUFC, seems to be well in the past and poorer for it.

I'm impressed. I thought the Burnley match couldn't be topped for sheer ineptitude and lack of desire.

The worst thing has to be watching Saints playing-out the last ten minutes so they could get on the bus home. A real shocker.

Gardos obviously didn't want to wait that long, George.

Having been back for over 13 hours now, i have had time to dwell on the result, but unfortunately stick by original posting from 2am this morning.
It seems that the media is today focusing on Koeman not shaking hands with Clough after the game. This was apparently down to a lack of respect and also the Sheffield United bench swearing at the Saints bench and 4th Official - even as alleged on talksport this morning, using the C word.
Now I am not sure whether this is a 'Moreno-esque' diversion tactic from Koeman as we lost, or whether they were calling everyone C's, the fact is, we as a team showed United no respect and most players, despite thinking they just had to turn up to win, played like a bunch of C's and have screwed up of team selection for Saturday.
No Morgan or Vic as suspended.
Possibly no Tadic unless rested last night.
Probably no Davis
No Gardos - not that he has shown prem qualities yet
JWP may be back but is no where near back to his best

Pelle is back yes, but we have nobody giving him any ammunition.
