Southampton At Aston Villa The Preview Saturday, 5th Mar 2022 07:23 Saints travel up to one their more happy hunting grounds in the Premier League to take on Aston Villa, looking to further cement their place in the top 10, can they keep up the recent good form. A busy weekend of football and one in which Saints if they win at Villa could open up a decent gap between themselves and 11th place, or they could get dragged back into the chasing pack behind them. One thing seems certain and that is it will be all change again for Ralph Hasenhuttl's starting XI, but with a few injury issues, we won't know for sure what the line up will be until 2pm when the team news is revealed. Main injury doubt will be Mohammed Salisu with a hamstring issue, he is the one man who we can't really cover at the moment should he not pass muster. For the travelling Saints supporters this will be the first chance to see Danny Ings in the flesh since he left the club in a haste last August and although it was a little disappointing in the manner in which he left or rather the quickness and his desire to get out of the club to one that was in no better position than Saints irked a bit with Saints fans. Personally I hope any abuse is good natured, this season has worked out a lot better for Saints than it has for Danny, perhaps he regrets leaving now. But the main thing here is to win the game, from that perspective we are in good form and go up to Villa without fear. In terms of selection I expect the team to be as near the starting line up that beat Norwich & Everton as injury will allow. Hopefully we can keep the unbeaten run going and in doing so keep those behind us a distance away.
