Fleetwood and Bury in Checkatrade

Dale have been handed games against Fleetwood and Bury in the group stages of the Checkatrade Trophy.

One of the new rules is that if you played a team last year in the group stages and you're playing them again this year, then the venue will be reversed meaning that the Bury game will definitely be played at Spotland, which presumably means that we'll have a trip to Fleetwood.

There will be another team in the group stages which will be one of the "invited teams". This means one of the U21 sides and that opponent could be anyone from Everton, Leicester, Man City, Middlesborough, Newcastle, Stoke, West Brom or Wolves. The draw for this will take place next Wednesday.
