Saints Involved In Spanish Transfer Confusion Saturday, 1st Aug 2015 08:58 Saints are one of the clubs allegedly involved in what appears to be a chaotic situation surrounding Barcelona youngster Adama Traore.
Even the Spanish press can't a free on what the situation is regarding Adama Traore at the moment, the two Catalan sports papers are saying the exact opposite of each other.
Sport are saying that the 19 year old winger is up for sale at 10 million Euro's and that Barcelona are ready to sell although they would like a buy back clause in the contract, whilst Mundo Deportivo are claiming that Barca have no intention of selling and see Traore as a vital part of Barcelona B's forthcoming season.
However Mundo Deportivo are well aware that there is plenty of interest fro around Europe in the player also claiming that he is the most wanted player at the Nou Camp and name Saints as a club who have reportable contacted the player to persuaded him to move.
But if that is not confusing enough the Liverpool Echo are reporting that officials from Anfield have already headed to Spain to tie up the deal as the confusion surrounding the player intensifies.
Other media sources are saying that Barcelona are quite prepared to loan out Traore for the season and this is where Saints could be in the reckoning, if Traore was to head to Liverpool he would be joining a squad top heavy with attacking options, its hard to see just where he would fit in and how he would get a game, on the face of it just another of Brendon Rodgers mud slinging transfer policy.
Whereas at Saints Traore would stand a much better chance of getting game time and being involved with the first team squad on a day to day basis, what would the point be of him going to Anfield to make up the numbers, Barca would prefer to keep him in their own set up where playing for the B side he would have a more competitive level of football than he would get at Liverpool.
Stoke City are also another option but it could be that Stoke like Saints are being put into the equation at a higher level than they actually are due to the Barcelona connections of their respective managers.
From a Saints perspective its hard to see where Traore would get a regular game, but Saints are in the market for a flying winger option and loaning him in for a year would suit them.

Nick, sorry buddy but I've pointed it out before and now WanderingSaint has too, get a proof reader. We don't expect Shakespeare, the occasional spelling mistakes, bad grammar or even punctuation. But it seems you're over reliant on auto suggest. I can do it for you. Apart from that keep the great articles coming

I think the spelling mistakes are part of the art of the articles. We all know what he means, so it doesn't affect the story. It just makes Nick, Nick. Stop being so pedantic.

WanderingSaint he needs to switch off his auto spellcheck if he knows how! Nick, a little bit of fatherly advice... "Be in less of a hurry and take a little more time paying attention to detail" "Try to be brief!" None of us has the time to read more than your opener's so why pad it out with superfluous speculation? Mostly our replies are admirably brief. Sorry to give you a hard time old pal but well meaning.

SaintBrock please don't speak for me. I always have the time to read Nick's articles. Questions about superfluousness and brevity are down to personal opinion and I have never given anybody proxy to speak for me. Personally, I appreciate the unstinting work and effort Nick has contributed over many years and his style's fine by me. He's certainly more lucid than the awful text service offered by the BBC and I'm paying for that!

I think those who knock the style/errors etc in the articles on here (and I admit I have been guilty on occasion) have a bit of a cheek. It is a free site and those that run it put in a lot of time. The articles are always clear enough to understand and they usually get us talking...

I think we need to sign a decent creative and quick attacking player. Some one who can offer something similar to Mane. If Mane gets injured we will def be less potent. He tends not to make 90 minutes either. As for Juamni I am unsure about him as yet. Tadic is good but can he keep it the whole season. He is also a little more pedestrian pace wise. We know what Long can do well and Jrod who who likes to carry the ball at pace and score of course but how much does he provide re creating chances or breaking down stubborn defence? A clever skillful creative type of player is needed as back up for Mane I hope this Barca player is that

This is my favourite Saints site. Thanks so much for your great work Nick and team. I read every single article, and I love the comments too. The combination is balanced, reliable and interesting. And back on topic... it would be great to have some pacy wingers to throw on when we need to break a side down... Anyone coming up from the academy who could fill that role this year?

Quick reply on the spelling mistakes, I did this article on a tablet I haven't used before and the spell checker played havoc I think you will find that in general most articles are 98% ok for diction etc

Oh dear, I find myself defending Nick, he is no worse than the Echo and at least her has an opinion (i can enjoy disagreeing with!). My spolling isnt that great either but my in the pub post match analysis is probably one of the best around, in my unbiased opinion RE the story it sound like our chances of getting this guy ate slim to nothing, an expensive unproven player in a position that we don’t need to strengthen .

Six games in just four weeks, with four of them against sides also in the bottom six. By March we should be either well clear of danger, or even deeper in the sh*t. With Danny Cowley’s U’s still unbeaten, and looking stronger game on game, I’m sure it’ll be the former, but first we have to do our bit to consign Steve ‘Sour Grapes’ Cotterill’s FGR back to non-league.
