Time For A Slice Of Luck
Saturday, 23rd May 2015 17:49

It seems that this season has not seen Saints have a lot of luck on their side, perhaps the final game would be an apt time for that to change.

As fine a season as this has been for Saints I don't think it has been one where we have seen the luck go our way too often in fact quite the opposite, this has been a season where we have had more than our fair share of injuries to key players at vital times and even on this final day we play Manchester City with at least three key players unavailable through injury, Morgan Schneiderlin, Dusan Tadic and Fraser Forster would have all played some part if they were fit with Schneiderlin and Forster guaranteed to start.

So perhaps our trip to the Etihad would be as good a time as any to have a slice of luck or perhaps several, I don't care what it is, thre eof their players sent off perhaps, four dodgy penalties, a dodgy offside last minute winn, im not fussed i just want a slice of luck to go our way for once.

not to mention Liverpool and Spurs losing their final matches...

I doubt our luck will change that much Nick, City will want to go out on a high in front of their own fans and will probably play their hearts out the same way as we did on Saturday. In all honesty can't see anything for us at all in this game so the other results may just be of passing interest - sadly.

I can think of two clear cut penalties against Man C and Chelski that went our way. That's probably it. I think we've had more bad referees than good ones on balance though. I guess many would argue you make your own luck and if we had a slightly bigger squad we might not be moaning about injuries so much. Who knows?

I reckon we'll get something tomorrow at the Etihad. Think our boys will be more up for it. I'm not sure Man City's mega loaded superstars will be mentally able to consider this a big game with nothing to gain from it.

Injuries have caused problems but i think we've been lucky in the table, when we've lost the teams competing just above and below us have often failed to make gains. Refereeing in general across the whole season has been awful.
I think we could get something today, we're better against teams that come at us.

I fancy us to get at least a point. City didn't impress against Swansea at all and were very suspect with the ball over the top. If played right, this could be a good day for us if we can exploit it. I haven't given up on us yet!

Also, come on Everton and Stoke!! Let's hope they get a slice of luck too!
