Dale in bid to own Spotland Monday, 7th Apr 2014 12:14 by Col The club have announced that they are in discussions with the RFL and Rochdale Council with a view to regaining 100% ownership of Spotland Stadium. Part of the reason for the wish to regain full ownership of the ground is a Stadium Company debt, currently underwritten by the Council, that stands at £670,000 and is growing by the day. The club own approximately 45% of the stadium. The RFL owning a similar shareholding that they acquired when Rochdale Hornets entered administration and defaulted on loan to them where the Stadium shares were put up as a guarantee. Any deal with the RFL would involve a lease that would ensure Rochdale Hornets could continue to play at Spotland.
