Cork And Wanyama Both Out For Norwich Game
Friday, 14th Mar 2014 09:20

Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that both Jack Cork and Victor Wanyama are likely to miss Saturday's game against Norwich, however there is good news.

Speaking in his pre match press conference this morning the Saints manager has said that Jack Cork is likely to be out for a few weeks whilst Wanyama is doubtful for the game, which could be a little smokescreen or it could be a problem.

In better news he also revealed that although Dejan Lovren had been ill earlier in the week he should be fie for the clash against the Canaries.

If Wanyama is out though it could be a poser for Saints as they would be without two influential players in the way that Pochettino likes to put out his sides, one option though would be to play Steven Davis in a deeper role than he is usually employed freeing up his spot for either James Ward Prowse or Gaston Ramirez to come into the side.

Although this is perhaps a blow to lose these two, fact is the centre of midfield is our strongest area and the one in which we can cope with injuries more than any other positions in the team.

I'd like to see Gaston given a start. I really don't feel he's been given a fair crack of the whip. We've only really seen a few glimpses of what I'm sure he is capable of. Norwich could just be the game?

Let Harrison Reed stake his claim.

Couldn't play Lallana and Ramirez together. That would be too much luxury in the middle where we need more strength. I say play Harry Reed. Norwich are weak away from home so he should be able to step up and cope. Take his chance to shine.
