Mick Stockwell Tuesday, 6th Dec 2011 08:00 by Daniel Stockwell retired from professional football at the end of the 2002-03 season, aged 38, having made 146 appearances for the U's over three seasons, scoring 24 goals. Following his retirement he signed for Heybridge Swifts as a player-coach, but quit after a few months and joined Woodbridge Town in September 2003. He later took over the managerial reins at Woodbridge in May 2004 and spent three seasons in charge, resigning in November 2007 because of the clubs financial situation. Away from football, he has done some radio work for SGR/Heart FM as a summariser for Ipswich Town games and has his own business, Mick Stockwell Fitting Services, fitting kitchens, bathrooms and the like.
