Agreed but putting money into the youth set up and constantly looking to develop and then sell on home-grown talent didn't exactly do Crewe any harm. Our board do seem to be trying and although i'm fairly sceptical they have put forward some logical plans such as building a new social club incorporated into the main stand, building executive boxes above the Cemetery End stand etc, which could all provide further revenue if done correctly and not half-arsed. The problem is that these are just suggestions at the moment and nothing has actually started, which is why Bury fans such as myself are sceptical. The credit facility to SD is of course a huge worry but I fail to see what the fans can do apart from cross our fingers that it doesn't go tits up in a few years. |

Completely agree with this, he's such a genuine guy as well, was one of the few who always stayed around after each game to applaud the fans regardless of the result. At times he looked a class above league 2, but then he'd make a mistake and cost us a goal! |

No one really knows the full story but believe me there are a lot of Shakers who are worried by it, it's not sustainable but hopefully a few of the younger players (Cameron, Mayor, Rose & Hope) will all come good next season and net us some healthy transfer fees. I'd hope that this is the plan, medium/long term they are investing quite a bit in the youth set up so hopefully this will come to fruition. We need to cut our cloth accordingly and sell up when the time is right (as you did with Hogan) and hopefully this is what they will do. |

Afternoon Daley's, just recently joined having spent some time looking at this forum from afar (well Bury). Have to admit that being in the 'trying to enjoy the ride but very worried about it going tit's up' camp i've been much more interested in the views on here rather than our forum. I completely agree that the sums don't add up at Stade de JD at the moment, and the lack of clarity from the board doesn't help. Personally I hope we move heaven and earth to get Nick Pope back on loan this season and then sign him next summer, Logan at 29 years old doesn't seem as good an investment whereas Pope could get us at least a million in a few years the way hes going. |
