Who is conducting transfer negotiations in January?
at 12:32 1 Jan 2025

Many thanks for your kind wishes Ifonly.

It may surprise you to learn that I still genuinely wish you and your family all the best. After all, we are both Saints fans so what’s to be gained in not doing so ?

In any event I’m pretty certain that both the 🌍 and your good self will continue to spin in 2025.

And to you Sir and every other contributor to the site throughout 2024 with particular thanks to Nick himself.

Who knows, this time next year we may be top of The Championship on our way to automatic promotion. Bold prediction I appreciate given that I don’t drink alcohol, but what’s being a Saint all about if you can’t dream ?

Dear oh dear oh dear Ifonly.

Yet again being reduced to having to spin what you originally said.

Rather a pattern throughout 2024 as I recall.

To be honest, I’ve throughly enjoyed crossing swords with you on a variety of subjects during 2024 and hope to be able to do so again next year. I can’t remember which subject in particular but I do remember actually agreeing with you once !

In that spirit and as one long suffering Saints supporter to another, I genuinely take this opportunity of wishing you and your family all the very best for 2025.

I doubt there’s a professional club in the whole of the UK where the manager alone has a yes/no decision on signings. Totally naive to think otherwise.

The club and Juric have a mutually agreed contract break clause which can be activated by either party hence I very much doubt that he will be in charge when we start our 2025 Championship campaign.

Sports Republic have been shown to be a totally useless bunch of absolute amateurs in my opinion. They couldn’t successfully run a bath or be able to figure out how to get home on a dark night.

Why our owners continue to be taken in by their obvious incompetence is beyond my comprehension. I’m reminded of the expression “ They must have more money than sense”.

To be honest we don’t offer much with him as the current table confirms.

He’s a Premiership player in a very very poor Championship standard squad assembled by a bunch of incompetents employed by the owners of Sports Republic who also haven’t a clue what they are doing.

Fortunately for KWP I believe his current contract expires in the summer of 2025.

Anybody still of the opinion that it was all Russell Martin’s fault ?

Fair play kernow.

I can’t help but notice that it’s all gone quite on here this evening with little input from the Christmas pantomime villain abusers.

New manager:- 3 games, 1 point from a possible 9 and only 1 goal scored.

Rather looks to me very similar form to our previous manager’s record.

I’ve said it consistently, the majority of the blame for our current league position lies with our owners and the absolute incompetent doughnuts they employ, who amongst other bizarre decisions, thought it a good idea to extend Armstrong’s contract and purchase cast off Championship and Premiership forwards to assist him.

In truth we were effectively relegated before a ball was kicked with or without Martin or the new manager.

Russell Martin goes but results wise nothing changes

Nail on head A1079.

I’m heartened that there are others who hold a similar sensible view of what is happening to our club rather than taking out their frustrations solely on the recently departed Russell Martin.

Then again it is Christmas. So I suppose its only to be expected that they need a pantomime villain to assuage their anger.

He didn’t help himself with bizarre team selections, tactics and substitutions but really, was it all his fault ?

Another game passes without us adding to the previous eleven goals scored. Honestly, how is it humanly possible to score only eleven goals during eighteen matches ?

Sports Republic’s decision to extend Armstrong’s contract by three years must rank as one of the most ridiculous decisions made in the history of the club. He couldn’t hit a barn door with a banjo last time we were in the Premiership for pity sake.

Their recruitment policy for strikers ( if indeed they ever had one ) during the summer has proved to be an absolute disaster.Championship and Premiership cast off players asked to play at the highest level with utterly predictable outcomes.

Blame Russel Martin by all means but please don’t let that cloud your judgement of the total bunch of incompetent chancers who currently own and run our club.

Looks like it's Carlos Corberan
at 17:19 19 Dec 2024

If my memory serves me correctly we played W B A four times last season, winning three and drawing the other game.

Was this Corberan fella their manager on all four occasions ?

If so, on that basis alone, why in the name of everything that is holy is it being suggested we have approached him ?

Honestly, the idiots at Sports Republic couldn’t run a bath or manage to get home on a dark night.

Whats The Chances Of A New Manager Before The Weekend
at 16:54 17 Dec 2024

Spot on PaleRider.

What’s been proven over the last two and a bit seasons is that the senior management at St Mary’s are totally inept at making decisions concerning football.

They get the benefit of the doubt concerning improvements to the stadium but that’s the limit of their combined abilities.

Football management wise, frankly they couldn’t successfully work out how to run a bath or find their way home on a dark night. Collectively, they are about as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike or a cat flap in a submarine.

Thames Water management rewarded for failure yet again.
at 20:54 10 Dec 2024

I ( and I suspect the vast majority of sensible people ) don’t want to flog the company bosses If only. We simply don’t want them to be awarded bonuses for the reasons previously stated.

Apart from the last sentence your contribution was very informative. As they say “ every day is a school day”. Thanks.

Thames Water management rewarded for failure yet again.
at 17:11 10 Dec 2024

According to the B B C the company has :-

1, £16 Billion pounds of debt.

2, Has asked the water regulator to be allowed to increase consumers bills by 59% over 5 years.

3, Their record recently on allowing effluent to be pumped into waterways is worse than ever.

Yet their executives have just received £770,000 in bonus payments on top of their salaries.

Why did the Conservative Government allow this to happen over 14 years and equally importantly why are the current Labour Government allowing any sort of bonuses whatsoever to be paid ?

I didn’t say there was an ongoing bias toward Everton toffee because let’s face it they are not a big club are they ?

In truth they are much like ourselves.Currently, a not particularly large ground capacity and they haven’t won anything since the ice age.

Reference the Forest game being “ a one off “. Very convenient though wasn’t it, a new large capacity ground costing millions being constructed and a financially catastrophic relegation quite possible at the time.

As for Wolves yesterday. Exactly what now is the purpose of V A R other than to ensure that the big ground capacity clubs continue to remain so ? At 1-0 down their player was through on goal and pushed violently in the back by a desperate West Ham defender, yet V A R suggests all is well.Yeh,right.

Throughout history it’s been proven that where there is money involved there is corruption involved, why logically should football now be immune ?

Yep, I’ll refrain from calling it corruption. Others less kind hearted may possibly suggest otherwise.
