I feel bad but I did say as Celar limped off in that home game it might have been a blessing. I know he was starting to get the odd goal but his all round play is non existent
Nothing wrong with a toe punt if it gets the job done, that was a great finish
I was a bit cynical about Kolli’s supposed greatness last season but happy to eat my words, he’s put away some fine goals already and looks like a proper finisher. With the new contract it’s going to be great watching him progress. Brilliant ball to Saito near the end as well, plus him and Chair are clearly on the old wavelength that Chair and Eze used to have
The whole pathetically transparent media manipulation of slow dripping good news is annoying, but it’s not the end of the world if they’re actually getting the deals done. That’s what important
If they announce Dunne on Tuesday and it was done last week who really care. Let the marketing dept have their little wins
Agree on Colback - everything I’ve seen of Plymouth this season and talking to my Plymouth mate their central midfield is pretty weak. Win in there and we should have a chance (ie no Madsen as well)
Is that the same pub that had the Putney Jolly Gardeners football team? They were handy back in the day, had some tasty clashes with them in my amateur football days
- For a lot of the first half we had them on the rack and it was a good end to end game, we weren’t there to park the bus and looked good doing it - If Dunne and Smyth were our starting right hand side we would maybe have won (they weren’t, but that’s a separate issue) - JCS did 90 minutes which is important, plus Frey and Colback are starting to look like they’re back in earnest, which bodes well for the second half of the season
Ultimately if Ashby hadn’t gifted them a goal at 1-1 and again at 2-3 I think that was a winnable game which is infuriating, but we weren’t battered at all, it didn’t feel like a 6-2 game
The last 20 mins without Field and Chair are a bit irrelevant as we’d given up by then
Having said that I wasn’t there, I might feel different if I’d trekked all the way up there in that weather
