BIden v Trump - and we thought our options were poor !!
at 19:06 29 Jun 2024

I started this thread Orthodox

We have always had a varied list of topics debated on here.

Music, other sports and general affairs etc.

And general posts when someone famous passes away etc.

Yes there is one on our general election and when covid was at its height, and zero football happening, there was some very frank exchanges going ahead.

We all follow our team but there is life outside of QPR and some of it, from my perspective, I enjoy debating about all sorts of other issues.

If some people get out of hand with sometimes some inappropriate bashing of other forum members, I think that's when some of these discussions would be challenging.

If we all remain respectful of others when stating our own personal views, I feel it's all OK but if not, I stand corrected..

Yes but with the point you make, 33% thought Biden won this particular debate - how can people legitimately believe this is so. The world is currently on a very narrow knife edge, no doubt.

Has anyone seen the "Car Crash" performance of Joe Biden in his live TV debate v Trump.

Many times, he lost his train of thought. Often, he was.out of breath and many times he wasn't focusing.

This man is the so called leader of the developed world.

And he is going to get trounced, big time by Donald Trump, who could be beaten quite easily by a mediocre politician.

I really can't see how Americans can feel about their leaders in anyway that is positive whatsoever.

But this debate was shocking.

Having a giggle

Question - has Gareth Southgate ever had the experience of a fit of the giggles.

Has he ever done anything so childish, that he has completely convulsed with the most humongous belly laugh that has drowned out the sound of his mates, saying good one gaz, me old mucker !!!!!!!!!!!!

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

How many people on here, would do the same.

If I personally was on £10k a week and that's guaranteed income for 4 years and I remember what I was like at the age of 22. I was an idiot.

I would have thought I am set for life here and I can perform or I can do nowt and still get the dosh, how many on here can honestly say in that situation, they potentially would do how Taylor is doing.

Myself personally at that age, even if I had the talent like Richards does seem to have, I would be nerve ridden attempting to play on front of 20k crowds every time I stepped on the pitch so I would say I would have done the same. Honest assessment.

I never had that talent and assuming most on here don't but at 22 and with these kind of wages, it's inevitable this can happen

We literally experienced this regularly with players that came here regularly for an expensive early retirement- look at Wright Phillips- these people were worse.

People are throwing around mental health and if that's so and we don't know either way that's a tough gig. I work in this field these days and experienced it myself as has my partner and several friends of mine.

The rules around mental health and employment are complex. Perhaps in a small organisation, employers can engineer people out the door but the football world is very public and no chances to do that.

Whatever it is either way, it's a waste and sad but no more than that.

Every employer on earth makes mistakes with recruitment.

But some realism around the fact is we just don't know and best leave it there I feel.

Supposedly the most advanced nation in the world had a debate for their most important job in their country and they had the choice between an old man that couldn't remember his own name to another old man that's a nasty bully with a conviction to his name and many more personal legal cases to fight still to face.

Think it's time to leave this one simply because we will never know what's the truth.

The love for Robson seriously has only grown in the years after.

Bobby got pelters almost as often as Southgate has.

1986. We lost to Portugal who had only ever qualified for a tournament once before and drew with Morrocco nil nil and Super Ray sent off too. Bryan Robson injured too.

And it was only then that we improved but even though the cheat goal by Diego, they deserved that win.

1988. Was a shambles. Zero points at the group stage.

1990. Again change of team due to Bryan Robson injured again. And Gascoigne and Platt combo we greatly improved .We played brilliantly in the semi final but that was it

And only then did Bobby Robson get credit but he also had a generational talent who was at the heights of his powers.

Time has improved the love for Bobby but he was hated pretty regularly during his career to be fair.

Southgate. Yes he is defensive. Yes it's a strange tactic co sidering all our quality is in attack.

But we get through every time. We progress and we do achieve.

In finishing terms he is the second most successful England Manager ever but yes the ways to get there so far has been incredibly dull.

When we met Italy at Wembley in the final was a massive let down. Not because we lost but there was zero passion, zero flair and zero evidence that we were a decent team.

I don't like the dullness of Southgate but he has been effective and there have been many many managers that have played worse and with worse results also. Graham Taylor, Steve Mclaren, Sven Goran Ericsson and Fabio Capello to name a few and even Big Sam unless he had not been on the take..

He doesn't deserve the hate

But others comparing him unfavourably against Bobby Robson have allowed the passing of time to cloud their own memory banks.

Say it wasn't so !!!!

Isn't Mr Willock a devout Christian boy.

Didnt know going for the "brief holiday romance" thing is allowed in the world of Jesus.

Anyhow being turned down and women turning their noses up at him in a dodgy Spanish resort bar, finally I have something in common with one of our qpr footballing role models !!!!!

I am available Marti !!!

Thankfully we are not playing Oxford in a friendly this season but we can gain revenge as the mighty Oxford boys are in our league this season.

Get our own back for the cup final 1986 debacle !!!

Aspirational

Nice life.

At least 5k a week for the last four or five years and another two more years.

Blokes a millionaire.

Won't get any grief from the fans a la Taylor Richards as he simply won't get in the team if he is a definite number two.

Few weeks in the Caribbean during his career.

Then 35 years old, made for life, could do what he wants in life.

Bloke must be laughing in his extremely large hot tub every night of his life !!!

Well done Jordan.

Got it made son !!

I would have thought if Willock was going anywhere, that the deal would have to be in place by now.

if if he doesnt sign a new contract and he hasnt got a deal elsewhere, he could go somewhere a heck of a lot more downmarket than here...

I dont think many would take a punt on him and the ones that would I dont think he will get whatever he is being advised he posiibly could get.

To me as no news re movement, this to me suggests we have a deal in place for him, which i personally would be happy with.

He seemed to enjoy Marti being here and he surely realises our current manager would be the best possible for his development

I think the announcement being left to the last minute as they leaving potential good news to last minute - a bit like Johansen signing which at the time many of us, me included, was the missing link for the club.

If willock did go - its kind of slightly tarnished QPR career ie could have expected more !!!

I was at the Man Utd one.

It ended up 4-2. United got a late goal but at 4 - 1 and after Moses got a worldie and Dykes looked a player and I was predicting a play off promotion push after that and man Utd did have a few first teamers on the pitch.

Seen some random ones - away at Aldershot and away at Windsor and my dads mate was the chairman there - not that meant much !!!!

I would be interested in the Spurs game if only to see Son play although not sure he will.

Always good to see an international top class player,.

Decent friendlies though but friendlies they are !!!

Kane Foden Saka and Bellingham from form shown so far, are all eminently droppable.

Will all four play next game - Southgate will still pick all four no doubt !!

I would pre tournament say that all four are un droppable but if any of them were not in the starting line up next game, I would more likely be in agreement with that decision.

It's been the defensive five that have done well.

Although full back choices could change more because of contributions required in attack.

It's a funny old game !!!
