Joseph Hood, I believe. We watched the England
game in a small club house next to the pitches.
It was 23 years ago, so might have changed a bit!

I remember Leicester Bee, was a lovely bloke
and didn’t show too much animosity towards us!

Are you in this team photo, loftboy? Think it was
taken in Gunnersbury Park before we headed to
Griffin Park for Bircham’s last minute thunderbastard.

Hello E17, hope you're well? What a blast from the past,
I'd be intrigued to see who's still around and attending R's games after all these years, sincerely hope it's everyone from that photo. Spoke to MattR this week (who's standing next to us on the back row, far right), and met up with Hoopstar before the Blackburn game a few weeks ago.

Ron and Simon managed to squeeze a few more friendlies for QPRnet against Brentford and Northampton, I played in all of them but don't think we won a game! We fared much better when entering the LSA Tournament at Loftus Road a couple of years running.

Once that folded, a few of us made the switch to ASB (Accrington Stanley Bowles) Supporters Team, playing
the fans of whoever QPR were facing that Saturday,
home and away, for the next six years.

I remember the old Rivals messageboard days when it was run by Ron and Simon. We played a few friendly matches
in the early 2000's against members from Brentford's Beesotted forum. Below is a photo from that first meeting between the two teams at Raynes Park in June 2002, after watching England dismantle Denmark at the Korea/Japan World Cup. Pretty sure that's Ingham in the brown jacket, Road Dog and Maverick are in the front row and GroveR is there, too. Sweepy was indeed the gobby Bees fan who
had his head shaved in the bar afterwards. Happy days.

The coldest/wettest you've ever been at a match
at 21:19 2 Jan 2025

Coldest I've been was up at Newcastle for the start of the Mark Hughes era back in Jan 2012. We made a bit of a weekend of it, going out the Saturday night before the early kick off the next day. Remember nearly falling arse over tit on the frozen pavement near St James' Park, just to watch an abject performance, us hit the woodwork twice, then the only goal of the game scored by ex-R's striker Leon Best. Great view of the city from the top of the Leazes Stand, but the temperature just kept dropping.

As for the wettest, remember arriving at Loftus Road for a midweek game against
Palace in 2009, only to be turned away after it was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch!

Have you ever left early...
at 09:52 12 Nov 2024

Also left the 2-2 with Brentford on 82 mins, and was walking down Uxbridge Rd when the BBC Sport app on my phone flashed Freeman's equalizer on 90+4. Strange feeling both elated and fuming at the same time.

In 2002, remember slowly walking down the steps in Ellerslie and still peeking at the Loft end to see what would become of one last attack against Wigan, going into injury time losing 1-0, when Magic Hat rescued a point with the last kick, which was nice of him to do on my 15th birthday.

First Cinema you saw a film in?
at 16:50 5 Sep 2024

For me, it was UGC Staples Corner, off the Edgware Road. Can't remember the year or the film, but no doubt some Disney animation. Only had six screens, and later became Virgin Cinema and Cineworld, where I worked in my late teens.

They've plonked the new Thameslink station, Brent Cross West, right on the carpark
next to the old building. Went past it on Friday night on the way back from the Luton game.

I also have memories of being taken to see Jurassic Park at Empire Leicester Square,
and other films at Warner Brothers a few doors down.

My great uncle was a projectionist at the original Odeon in Leicester Square just
after the war, he would have been present at some classic premieres back in the day.

Who could forget Bob Malcolm, found drunk and asleep at the wheel in the middle lane of a motorway.

The true crime was his performances at the heart of our defense.

QPR extend Erreà kit deal
at 15:22 9 Dec 2022

Bar the pink and turquoise away tops (however popular with some fans), all their designs have been pretty good. The black & gold from last season was a huge hit and the green & black hoops from 2017 was my favourite away shirt in years.

If we were to go with someone else, Castore make really nice kits.

I'd have to go with Blackpool at home in 2003, when they were hilariously wearing an all-black kit.

Can Barnes Play for Us This Season?
at 11:36 17 Mar 2022

So if we're not allowed to sign a 3rd choice from a Prem team, does that leave us with scraps from the EFL? Like Warbs said, unlikely any Championship clubs would do us a favour.

Below is a list of keepers either unattached or not getting a game at all, and it doesn't fill me with much confidence.

David Button
Declan Rudd
Vasilis Barkas
Frank Fielding
Fabricio Agosto
Kieren Westwood
Robbin Ruiter
Ben Alnwick

Keeper crisis
at 23:29 10 Jan 2022

Wonder if Lee Grant would be available? Not exactly got fond memories of playing against us for Derby and Man Utd, but he’s fourth choice there, getting nowhere near that squad and has the experience Warbs might be after.

Ben Hamer has been playing for Swansea in the League and Cup, so can’t see that one happening.

Freddie Woodman would be interesting but don’t remember him pulling up any trees last season.

Andy Lonergan is another Prem keeper down the pecking order and we were linked with him in the summer.

Assuming we don’t give Walsh a run in the team and opt for experience, I wonder if any of the names below would be considered? At a quick glance, it’s low on quality and free agents…

Darren Randolph
Lee Grant
Rob Elliot
Andy Lonergan
Jason Steele
Brandon Austin
Keiren Westwood
Jamal Blackman
Ben Alnwick
Lee Camp

Pubs showing Brum game ?

Does anyone know any pubs showing tomorrow’s game? Everything I can see says the Sky overlords removed red button games from pubs a few years back but surely somewhere will have it on?

Local Businesses in W12
at 10:36 26 Aug 2020

Having taken full advantage of the Help Out To Eat Out scheme, had a lovely meal at Vine Leaves Taverna on the Uxbridge Road last night (friendly staff and fantastic portion sizes).
I noticed that apart from the queue going round the block to get into Nandos, the area still felt a bit dead and made me think about all the pubs, restaurants and cafes we associate with Rangers and the match day experience and how much we're all missing it.

Clive's recent piece put it so well that it's like visiting a model village. Apart from the Coningham Arms and Princess Victoria, both were quite busy last night, it seems a lot of the other local businesses are slowing waking from their slumber.

Here's hoping we're allowed back into HQ sooner rather than later and some of these places are still here to keep us fed and watered. In the meantime, if you don't live too far away, why not pop down to one of them...God knows they need it.

Wycombe v M40 people tonight.
at 20:03 13 Jul 2020

Love Gaz when he played for us, really hope he can get Wycombe over the line. What an achievement that would be with their budget, also can't stand Karl Robinson.

No idea why Smyth isn't involved, maybe carrying a knock? I notice he was unused in both semi final games. I thought he'd be very handy in League One but looks like Wheeler keeps him out of the team.
