Great news. That’s the best outcome from what we all saw. |

Just like Joolsyp, I’ve also ruptured my Achilles this year. It is very painful and takes at least a year to recover from. As soon as he went down I said that is what he’d done. It’s the kind of thing that just snaps as you sprint. What I don’t understand is that it is one of the simplest injuries to diagnose. You simply lay the person down and then squeeze the calf. The foot moves if the Achilles is attached and doesn’t if it has ruptured. Our physios would have known within a few minutes of getting him back into the changing room. If he has an Achilles rupture I doubt he’ll play for us again….or possibly ever. He wouldn’t be fit to play until Feb ‘26 at the earliest. I know from personal experience. We have to hope that the odd comms about it means that it is something else. Fingers crossed. He posted a Tweet after the game but he’s also radio silent now…so I fear the worst. |

By “ just susceptible to deep crisis of confidence” do you mean basic mistake that costs the game?! |

The worst goalkeeper we’ve had in the last 15 years…how has this happened?! Just goes to show so much about ‘making it’ is a mixture of luck and being in the right place at the right time. |

Oh bugger! |
| Forum Thread | Colback at 17:25 29 Nov 2024
..apologies, if this is on another thread already…but it has to be good news that Colback is the third player featured on the main photo of the club’s email about tomorrow’s game. Surely that means he is playing some minutes tomorrow? I know I shouldn’t be pinning my hopes on a 35 year old centre mid…but surely he adds some steel, runs around and passes forward?! |

We need Morgan, Varane, Cook & Field to be superb again to have any chance at all….surely we will eventually score a goal or two just by accident?! |

Andersen has been in such poor form and Dembele plays better when central so I’d be tempted to go for; Nardi Dunne cook JCS Field Varane Saito Dembele Chair Frey |

I completely and utterly agree Clive. I was so pissed off at our team selection. This was round three for Christs sake and a London derby…last 16 in sight. Ffs. Palace were good, but as soon as we changed things around and played a bit we were right in this game. And a point to remember was their winner was actually against the run of play in that quarter of an hour. What a waste. Marti said in a recent interview that he wanted to do well in cups…and then did this. If we had expected them to drop players then he clearly hadn’t seen what they did in the last round. Also I refuse to be quick to judgement…but I am getting a little concerned about Celar now. |

Thanks Clive, what a brilliant read, almost as good as the evening itself in that shabby place! We were in the sixth row and can be seen acting like complete lunatics in front of Frey when the winner went in! What a superb day…and your match report captures that perfectly, I’ve been looking forward to reading it since Friday night. We parked in the back streets of Beruit and were delighted to find our car still in one piece and with four wheels once we’d doubled back out of the police route after the game. On the way to the ground we saw an expensive Range Rover with a QPR private plate parked near the ground…I’d love to know if that survived?! |

Thanks Clive, great report as always. Much appreciated. I’m trying to stay positive as I think this selection of players could become really exciting when it clicks. Dembele will become a loyal hero I think. But I do agree he had so much more effect on the game when he was central. I think Field needs a mention as he had a simply superb game. He was everywhere and in fact was unlucky not to score. I was gutted for him that their goal came off of his poor touch. I’m waiting for the odd meltdown that will happen this week when we sell Dykes. I’m really pleased that he is going as we’ve proved over two seasons that he can’t score regularly enough at this level. But neither Frey or Celar look the complete package either tbh. So where will the goals come from even with the chances we are creating? |

If there is any truth in these figures that are being mentioned then the young guy we have in charge is a genius! Why on earth is anyone bothered about any of our strike force (other than Kholli who has promise and has yet to fail) - if the CEO is genuinely bringing many million through the door whilst clearing the decks allowing us to buy some proper strikers then let’s put the flags out and have a street party. Some wildly good business. I am fully signed up to this revolution! |

If anyone wants to give anything for him, then sell. That would be my opinion. He is dreadful, and contrary to some of the comments in this thread, he has a truly awful attitude. Plus if he won’t sign a contract it is too late for a loan. His agent needs to have a serious word with himself. He has a shocking touch when dibbling, which is pretty much his only attribute (I.e. pace to get away from the oppo), he battles centre halfs and loses almost every time then moans. He is always offside, and have you noticed the amount of screaming that Marti has to do to try and get the bloke doing anything remotely close to his part of the defensive press. He may eventually become an almost adequate Championship player…but only with LOADS of development and with his attitude and his agents I fear that is simply never going to happen. |

I’m so glad that several comments here are not too bothered about Sincs. I’m bemused every time anyone gets all hot and bothered about this kid. I just don’t see it. He is quick and big. That’s it. He has little natural ability, is often offside, isn’t a natural finisher, is oddly unable to do 90 minutes and most recently has a shockingly self centred poor attitude. It does make me wonder if some unhelpful agent is giving him duff advice. I would literally take any other striker from any championship team in preference to this guy. Sorry….we need to get whatever we can for him. |

Does anyone know if this is true? I was hoping he’d have a superb tournament and sell for £1M?! |

Thanks Clive, I love these player reviews…on top of all of your other cracking writing. Have a great summer. I completely agree with all of this. Dykes needs a great euros so we can somehow sneak £1m for him. Get Frey fit to sit on the bench as a late change. Sinclair is the issue. I just don’t see it with him. Initially I was excited by him like everyone else. But I’ve come to realise that he just isn’t the full ticket, and I also worry that he is being badly advised. Has anyone else noticed that it is now all about him? He plays ten minutes as a late sub then collapses on the ground at final whistle like he’s climbed Everest or there’s that team photo in the dressing room and he’s holding up his shirt to show his name ….and he’s done bugger all that game. I fear he is believing his own hype when really he is utterly useless. Also I simply don’t understand how a 20 year old pro athlete can be so constantly cramped or injured. Is it because footballers aren’t that shape? Drogba is the only one I can think of. So here’s my question; would you be sad if he left. I wouldn’t. Our strikers are so so bad I would be delighted if they all left and we had three new random average strikers of varying ages. It would be a journey of discovery and I it is almost impossible for them to be as bad as this years selection! |

Great listen, thanks Clive. Also massive thanks for every written word throughout the season. What you don’t know is that a highlight of the close season is checking back here every few days to see when the end of season player reviews go up! Love them. I’m looking forward to what Taylor Richard’s gets?!! Ignore the likes of Jeff…the world is full of thick aggressive entitled idiots, it’s just a shame that we have our share too. On a side note I finally got to play at Loftus Rd yesterday. Another old slow goalkeeper….unfortunately ended up on the home team physiotherapist table with a ruptured Achilles. What a way to end any sort of team playing sports! Now to try and get walking in time for the new season….just watching obviously! |
| Forum Thread | Season ticket question at 16:05 10 May 2024
Apologies if this has been covered endlessly in other threads - but has anyone got any idea what is happening with season tickets for next season? As far as I’m aware we’ve had no info at all have we. Also it’s very odd that there is nothing on the website. I’ve also just tried calling the box office and there is no answer. I realise that they couldn’t sell them until they knew what division we’d be in….but that was a couple of weeks ago now?! Anyone any idea? |
