I agree, I'm not a massive fan of the style of play and It was always going to be a struggle this season with a steep learning curve for RM and the team. Let's hope we see some lessons learned in the coming games. And with SR in charge and their track record of panicked managerial appointments I fear the worst should they need to do a mid season reset. |

I thought he did well last season then he picked up an injury. It was a shame for him and us at that point as I thought he was really coming along. Good luck to him. |

If we were fans of any of those three teams we’d be rubbing our hands at the thought of playing us.
I bet Wolves fans are counting down the days until they play us and we do our usual thing of bending over and gifting them 6 easy points in a premier league season. [Post edited 1 Sep 7:10]

Couldn’t help but look at Forests team slightly enviously on Saturday. They’ve built a team that can do a job in the premier league. I just wish we had that Philosophy rather than dull no impact possession football that we seem destined to watch this season. |

I think even the most optimistic of fans realises we’re going to lose a lot of games this season, it’s just I’d rather we had a go at teams like Forest and lose than play the way we played yesterday and still lose.
Fair play to Forest, they’ll be fine this season. A strong team that knows when to go for it and when to defend. |

The club do everything they’ve done over the summer, moving away fans, fanzones etc to try and build on the West Brom game atmosphere then the team puts in a performance like that at the first time of asking. If you were working in department for fan engagement you’d be mightily miffed this morning. |

He’s a reactive manager, not a proactive manager.
That was fecking dull. They could still be out there now playing, and Forest sat on their coach home yet we still wouldn’t look like scoring.

Agree with this, in the sober light of the morning after and watching the highlights there was plenty of positives.
It’s frustrating that for what seems like the umpteenth season we are talking about a keeper. For me McCarthy coming in last season when Bazunu got injured was a turning point in us getting promoted. The frustration that we (fans) knew McCarthy wasn’t good enough with his feet when Ralph had him as number one is bewildering that we are asking him to take these risks to our detriment. In a league where every point is going to count I worry about the one that got away yesterday.
Let’s hope this week sees us finally addressing the GK situation one way or another. Either by buying someone that can play the way RM wants and can stop shots or the instruction to McCarthy is to go long and perhaps play over the press and force teams to think about that.
I’m actually looking forward to next Saturday. Been a while I said that about a premier league game! |

Yes, got caught out Wednesday with it being midweek so headed to the ground as time was pressing. Flat pish water in a plastic cup when someone behind mentioned how much the beer had gone up. I don’t like cider and didn’t spot Guinness on offer only to see a few others with it after I’d paid.
On another point, not that I’ll be buying beer at the ground most games now but I thought kingfisher was getting dropped? |

One of the more entertaining pre season friendlies I can recall going to.
That must be a record for cards in a friendly match.
2 very good goals, Lazio should have put the game to bed in the second half but their cross bar challenge competition seemed more important to them. |
