Great article about the academy

I had the opportunity pre lockdown to visit the Spurs Academy which is next door to their 1st team site.

The facilities are superb with pitches as far as you can see arranged around the central indoor playing area.

They were a little bit pleased with themselves to have made the Champions League final with home grown graduates in their team but seemed to ignore the fact that Kane & Rose came from other clubs.

No secret was made that boys were there on trial from other teams, 2 lads were there from Stevenage in the session I observed.

Interestingly Tom Carroll was mentioned as someone they had given longer to develop due to his size & Luke Amos was also referred to as someone who had gone out on loan with a view to coming back into the their 1st team at that point.

Hopefully if we can get somewhere near their standard of training ground and give kids the pathway to first team football the new Furlongs & Sterlings will stick with us.

Opposing players normally receive a respectful round of applause as they are carried off when injured.

The massive cheer as Hughes leaves is a reflection of the horrible git of a footballer he was.

Macca's policy of sorting him out nice and early was a tactic more should have copied.

Funniest comments you've heard at Loftus Road/ the KPF stadium

Hi all. Avid reader but 1st post.

Few seasons ago now during the game in which Newcastle won promotion at Loftus Road a certain Joey Barton was on the bench for them and within earshot of the paddock regulars.

On Joey getting up and fiddling with his socks shin pads etc an older fella who sits in front of me kindly enquired if he was having difficulty with his ankle tag, Joey having had to wear one at her majesties request previously.

Joey didnt find this funny but remember Kevin Nolan who was also sub that day almost wetting himself with laughter along with most of the Paddock. Would love to think he shared it in the dressing room as well.
