A Rough Guide To Manchester City
at 10:27:57

I'd just like to add a few comments to this, if I may
Yes we have some 'enthusiastic' supporters like any club but there is no history of problems with Saints supporters that I am aware of (Like any ground, if you go looking for trouble, you WILL find it) but generally, we are a trouble free ground apart from Derby Day
City Square is open to all supporters and I can assure you that you will not encounter any problems there. The entertainment is usually fairly good with some ex City and sometimes opponents ex players being interviewed. They particularly like having ex players that have played for both clubs. The only warning that I will give is that food and drink, like all football clubs, is not cheap, inside or outside in City Square
There aren't a lot of pubs around the ground to be fair, Mary D's is home supporters only so is the Manchester directly opposite. Please note this is on Police instructions, not the pubs. If you have no colours on and go in, you shouldn't encounter any problems even if the locals identify that you are a visiting supporter. Mary D's can be quite rowdy and the beer is sh*t !!!
As for the handful of other pubs around the ground, away fans will have no problems entering even wearing colours (We are not United). We had Arsenal supporters in the victoria in Croft Street recently and there was no problem at all. If you get there early enough around this pub or near the Grove pub, you can get away after fairly quickly as you are already on the road back to Ashton
The recommended route to take is the best one, coming off the M60 at Ashton Under Lyne, where you can actually park your car on the Snipe retail park and get the tram directly to the Etihad. Audenshaw Tram stop is 100 yards away past Pizza Hut. Getting there is no problem (£ 2.70 return) but you might have to queue for a bit after the game for Ashton bound trams TBH it's not too bad and again, wearing colours shouldn't cause a problem)
For those hardy souls making this horrendous journey on a Wednesday night, safe journey and good luck for the season (After this game, of course)
