Being hard to beat can only be a good thing. Look at the table and the number of defeats is less than Swansea and matching Watford. Hopefully the Watford stat will change in our favour Wednesday. But agree with other posters re crazy scores but anyone can beat anyone in the Championship. Look at Preston, makes our result seem even better. Saying that we need the crocs back, losing Jimmy at RB stunts our attacking options on the Right Side.

Budgies vs Rs Match Thread

Exactly couldn’t risk JCS so soon after coming back, proper left and right back. Surprised Morgan is playing though. Bench looks strong ( looking for positives) To think we do have 4 centre backs so you would like to think we would have had all emergencies covered. Ashby is quick so hopefully covers that idiot they have on the left. COYRs

Injuries
at 11:08 28 Dec 2024

So reading the papers this morning those with better facilities than ours are suffering more, thinking Spurs with no back 4 to talk about and Man City, looks like Ake did his hamstring as well. So the unavoidable conclusion is too many games. I have no stats but don’t remember as many injuries to key players when I was a kid and only one sub ( Gary Micklewhite more often than not). So maybe players are being trained to the point where the body gives way easier? Not putting it well but we are talking athletes at a peak with no give. I’m sure our teams of the 80s and 70s were not as fit as the science revolution via Wenger hadn’t arrived yet. It doesn’t give any form of answer, basically need bigger squads with adequate cover which is easier in the moneybags world of the Prem. So as stated earlier we need homegrown lads who can stand in. Have to say we are unlucky as I genuinely feel our season is being built around the quality of our CB’s especially with Morrison stepping so seamlessly. Norwich won’t be pretty.

The King's speech?
at 08:20 26 Dec 2024

You know Clive we should give him the benefit of the doubt. He is learning on the job and it’s hard to give a Christmas update at any other time of the year. I know the cynical ones would say if we were still in the bottom 3 we would have had no update but surely the fact we aren’t and he has is positive.

Keep it going Wilkins, would take a draw but actually believe a win is there for the taking. Half decent break so the team should be fresh, Fox will start instead of Cook and hopefully no other changes. Strong bench, Illias magic late on again and Dunne winner again on the cards. He could end up our top scorer this season, he wins that many headers. 2-1 to Superhoops

Out Of Contract

I see we are offering free printing for Kolli and Dunne shirts, ever the one to look at the posi5ives and I know they scored both goals but not the action of a club letting these 2 depart.

Happy Christmas Loftforwords
at 14:20 23 Dec 2024

Totally agree which leads to things not to say to your wife in the car after such a game. Along the lines of “best Christmas present” and then reminded I bought my own season ticket and have I seen what’s under the tree. Love the LFW debate. Even when we all disagree with each other’s football opinions, it’s coming from the same endgame ( COYRS) …. Andy

It’s funny with the possession stats as I see it meaning we are less pissballing around in front of Nardi giving me a potential heart attack. Stainrod ( he was my all time favourite player) I understand where you are coming from but not losing when playing badly is the sign of maybe a better team than we think we may have? Ever the optimist, reckon Saturday is one of those potential watersheds where excuses are harder to find. If you believe the Offy JCS should be on the bench ( though Morrison has been great), Illias may start, Kolli’s bug is on the central line and we have a recognised left back playing. Actually any chance you could persuade Simon (Stainrod) to come out of retirement and play up front? ……. It’s funny but I for one look forward to your posts even if some of them are completely bonkers….. 2-0 btw and a full house Oh hopefully Frey as well

Smyth’s smash and grab stuns City – Report
at 20:44 16 Dec 2024

Makes a change us scoring the “worldie” instead of being the victim of one. Only saw the second half, agree we looked knackered, thinking next Saturday will be far better. I thought a big statement that Santos not even on the bench when we have injuries suspect we won’t see him any time soon with 1st team. Illias needs more minutes as much for his fitness but to give Saito a rest, people mention Morrison as a data success this smiling lad is not far behind. Great report Clive

Smyth,s Goal?
at 14:58 14 Dec 2024

He gets so much stick but excellent assist midweek and an unbelievable goal today. Scary thing he had time, thought about it and the ball went exactly where he wanted it. Only saw second half but he ran himself out again, team player.

Anyone any idea if Paal, JCS, Frey or even Colback close to featuring or Madsen’s knocks he received

Squad hopefully not that thin, Field the shield back makes bench stronger with Morgan. Illy and Michey on the bench hopefully also. Only question mark over Paal, if he’s not available Ashby to carry on good work of the second half. Cold night under the lights ( always the best) 2-1 at least

QPR finally taste home victory as Norwich get Kolli-wobbles – Report
at 13:41 9 Dec 2024

Perfect summation Clive. Even after the third we were counting down the minutes loudly in Stanley Stand. Basically my crew enjoyed the 93rd to 96th minute. Felt like Lady Luck might have finally turned our way. More than one hero Saturday, Morrison proving a bit of a revelation, shows the data can work. Feel for Celar though, hopefully gonna be an interesting bench Wednesday.

Sam Field or no Sam Field?

Varane and Field have to be 1st choice. Noting conversation about who plays alongside Varane shows he is coming good.

Great report Clive misses looked even worse second time round, felt Morrison the worst.

A mate of mine is a Watford season ticket holder ( man and boy) he felt we should have had it wrapped up at half time. So an opponents view “ I really like that tall midfield player you have something of the Hoddle in the way he passes”

Not saying I agree, but Glen wasn’t the best tackler either.

Before I am shot that is not my opinion, he also loved Saito and Jimmy and Nardi and tbh most of the team, bar Paal as he didn’t go there

Mate, a Watford season ticket holder, at the game says we should be at least 2 up and they play better in the second half. Says we are easily the better team unsure if that is because all fans are critical of their own ( reading this thread and quite a bit of that) or he is an accountant

Would bite your hand off for that, sadly I think today might be another reality check as too soon after Wednesday night. A point a bonus
