AVB on 12:41 - Dec 16 by Shaky | I really doubt Laudrup is going to be interested in going there. Levy also seems intent on developing a reputation in some ways worse than Abramovich's. |
Not really. Redknapp was well loved, sure, but his credibility was damaged over the "I can't read, honest gov, dunno how my dog rosie had that account" incident. AVB for me was always smoke and mirrors. Won at Porto, sure, but they dominate the Portugese league so not necessarily a major achievement. The buys Spurs have made with Baldini there, you look at that squad and it's a hell of a lot better than their performances have indicated at times. AVB dug his own grave. Townsend on top form, used mostly as a sub recently. High defensive line ripped to shreds due to a lack of pace in the middle. Persisting with Soldado on his own with little support at times. Add in AVB exposing himself as an idiot re Lloris - ie slating those who criticised keeping him on, claiming his medical staff know best only for Lloris to then be ruled out of the next game on medical advice. Factor in a penchant for blaming everybody but himself, it was a matter of time before AVB was to be fired. | |
