SWP record 13:24 - Oct 24 with 6875 views | finesse | Games SWP has started vs Premiership opposition in the last 12 months: played 24, won 2, drawn 4, lost 18. This is an average of 0.41 points per game, which if achieved for a whole season would give us a total of 15-16 points. Simply not good enough for Premier League football anymore.

You're obviously hinting at something with 'a familiar style', but i'm a new poster - I found my way here after reading loft for words on twitter, and enjoying Clive Whittinghams match reoprts - particularly the one from QPR v Liverpool last season. QPR are a small pond in terms of Premiership, I love them, they are my team - but i'm not kidding myself - we're not 'there' yet. Thanks for the welcome though, albeit a little thick with sarcasm... :)

You seem a little jaded TacticalR, but I can assure you i'm a brand new poster - never been here before. i'm a new poster. I'm 35 have supported QPR since I was a small boy (once i'd gotten over my obsession with Keegan). I'm not a season ticket holder, but I get up there as often as I can, which is not as often as I would like. And unless you're a wet blanket with a bowl of jelly for a spine, isn't any opinion a strong one? Anyone who joins a forum has joined because they have seen something they want to reply to and have a strong opinion towards.

Sorry, Monkey_Roots, but as I mentioned earlier, a lot of threads are being started or joined by posters who have just joined the site, and who have, to put it diplomatically, a very similar style. Nothing wrong with strong opinions, it's just that a lot of these new posters *immediately* hit the ground running with strong opinions (often with the same strong opinion as another poster on the same thread), when you might expect a new poster to introduce themselves, and to let us know their favourite milk-based food product.

SWP record on 10:07 - Oct 26 by hoopstilidie | And as I replied to you when you originally posted that garbage.... "No the embarrassing fans are the ones that bang on and on and on and on ad infinitum about the same player. That was my point. We know he's been poor, I questioned us signing him at the time and copped untold grief for it. I don't hero worship everything in a hooped shirt, I didn't want Barton in it and I never do again. I never said we should support anybody that wears the hoops regardless either. You've taken what I've written and read into it what you want to, that speaks more about you than me. Constantly rubbishing one of your own players is embarrassing, fact, that doesn't mean that the alternative viewpoint is a "one eyed attitude" at all. " |
Still picking arguments hoopstillidie? There is a consistent factor in all this and it isn't me.

I'm disappointed that my posting style is akin to that of a commoner... if you were to put it undiplomatically, what would you describe it as? I'm also a member of a boxing forum, so that may explain why I 'hit the ground running'? Hmmm, favourite milk-based food product? If someone makes a ridiculous assertion that they then attribute to me by name and I answer it only for them to completely ignore my reply and then copy and paste the exact same assertion and again attribute it to me by name and I copy and paste my original reply to it how does that pan out as me "picking arguments" exactly? Are we allowed to bring common sense into this argument? SWP has looked pretty decent in certain games for us: Newcastle he was sublime and unlucky, WBA, Wolves and Man City spring straight to mind... He has now lost his touch and also his confidence which means he is not as good as he used to be but when playing poor opposition can still play (Summer he looked good and also versus Walsall - where he scored!) I don't think he should play but he is still an asset to QPR and him being mentioned as the worst ever player beggars belief! Grow up!

Dear Hoopstilli...... what ever. How many times can the statement that "SWP is talentless, a waste of money, space- and should never play for QPR again" be posted? You seem to be the only one who doesn't seem to understand that statement. Westbourne R, Tears of a Clown, LazyFan,and Kir sounds like a pretty good back four to me. I'll go in goal with them in front of me. Apart from SWP, who else on your team is putting in the crosses for you to nod past me? [Post edited 1 Jan 1970 1:00]

Sorry, what exactly is "embarrassing" about it ? Another week has passed and another £70'000 has been deposited in Shaun Wright-Phillips bank account. I know what I think is the more "embarrassing" & its not QPR fan's moaning about it on a messageboard.

If your worried about money then shouldn't your issue be with they guy that offered him 70k a week? If anything by grabbing it with both hands he's proved he's not an idiot which puts him ahead of Barton. If your issue is about football then we have had worse players than swp, in fact we still have worse players than swp on our books. Personally I agree with htid, swp shouldn't start but neither should 100 threads about swp especially after he has already been dropped.

Stop fock.ng hounding one of our players because like it or lump it, hes part of the squad and obviously has a part to play this season. What exactly do you hope to achieve? That TF will read and value your 'so important' opinions, take heed and dash down and cancel his contract post haste? Maybe, just maybe getting behind the lad will see his performances improve. Its called supporting. Maybe you have heard of it, maybe not. Agree to a certain extent. It's better this stuff is done on a message board (which is the place for it really) than at the game where it can effect performance. But it's been done to death now. He's not playing well, for whatever reason, and hasn't been for some time. We get it.

I'm old - so what is a wum? Is it a chinese takeaway? Whatever the word means, it hasn't provoked anyone, most of us are just so incredibly disappointed with what we have got for the money spent, and why he gets picked ahead of others who have more talent, who have more to offer and are more identified with the old 60's and 70's version of what QPR meant. I'm happy to accept that whoever bought him has a lot to answer for, likewise whoever picks him has just as much to answer for. I'd prefer it if he never plays again. Maybe its not his fault, but the same could said could be said of Iorfa, Morrow, Ready, Malcolm, Hateley and the rest. In fact, Hatelely comes closest to everything that's wrong with SWP, a big money signing and fook hall to show for it. Can't feel too sorry for SWP because he's still trousers £10,000 a day. Defend that. Can we leave it there? I will, unless SWP gets picked for the Arsenal game, then I start to worry about it being a conspiracy by agents to get QPR relegated.
