Mackie's strange goal celebration 12:23 - Mar 22 with 3017 viewsadhoc_qpr

Anyone know what the deal with that was?

He looked pretty non-plussed for a guy who just scored an injury time winner and seemed to be gesturing for everyone to calm down or something?

He seemed to be saying "I don't see how you lot can make such hard work of beating these"!

The amount of weird gestures he did made me think more than once during going wild that the goal wasn't given!

I think he was that surprised we scored a winner that he didnt know what to do.

Smells like a trout farm in here

I thought he was trying to orchestrate something with the other players, but in the emotion of it they all forgot so he gave up and just joined in the jumping on each other thing...

Why stop now, just when I'm hating it

Mackie had a point to prove. He loves QPR like us, plays with his heart and gives 100% effort.

This goal was to shut us up, shut the stupid fans up that confronted them on the train and show the rest of the league that QPR are still in the hunt for survival!

We are all in it together and there seems to be a real bond between the players, just hope the fans can see this and realise that they are doing their best.

Reminded me a little of John Spencer's celebration after scoring the equaliser against Port Vale in the 4-4.

A kind of 'yeah and what' celebration.

We're the famous Queens Park Rangers, and we've got Roy Wegerle!

best jaw ever!

Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. Stefan Moore, Stefan Moore running down the wing. He runs like a cheetah, his crosses couldn't be sweeter. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore. Stefan Moore.

looked like a pretty standard mackie celebration to me (other than Leicester away last season), getting right involved with the fans, he really does love it.

Derby away last season was hes best celebration.
I think he was trying to say "whats all the fuss about" this is easy given half a chance.

kissing, hugging and "coming across people" remind me to avoid sitting near you. I can do without the dry cleaning bill.

I remember John Spencers debut against Reading away when he put us 1 up (i think). slotted it home and said something along the lines of 'i'm the fecking man' whilst pounding his chest. I quite liked that arrogance.

I remember that celebration too. Christ knows how we won that game because we were hopeless!

My take on it was that he was sarcastically saying 'So what, I don't care' which would fit in exactly with the shrug and was in response to something that I guess may have been said at Euston. He obviously does care about winning because he was running around like a demented rabbit when he came on.

I mean that in a good way!

Seems the 'Euston incident' had the desired effect on some of our players. We've tried in recent weeks to encourage them which has not worked. Some of the team get told a few home truths and low and behold in the next game we show a bit of fight and application and we come away with 3 points. A few home truths has never done anyone any harm.

I'm still of the opinion that Mackie is not good enough to start. He has more of an effect on the game when he comes on as a sub. When he starts he barely creates anything in midfield and he won't play upfront as he won't dislodge Zamora and Cisse.

Spot on. He didn't seem to know whether to stick, twist or bust. I can't imagine in his wildest wet dreams he ever imagined to be playing in a team coming back from 2-nil down to Liverpool with 13 minutes to go and scoring the winner!
