taewoo ? on 12:22 - Feb 6 with 651 views | QPunkR | No-one's saying he should be sent back to Milan or anything, but he has had a dodgy 1st two games. His positioning has looked way off and many passes have gone in behind him over the past 180 minutes. Nevertheless, hopefully he comes good, as he was class when I've seen him (on telly) in the Champs League before

The guy has 48 Nigeria caps and was deemed good enough for AC Milan to pick him up. He must have talent. Just think it may take him a little while to acclimatise to our Premier League. Italian football is a very different animal to what we are used to, and Taiwo has not played much over there. Keep faith and support him, he'll come good.

taewoo ? on 21:45 - Feb 4 by N12Hoop | Strikes me as a bloke who had conned his way into getting people to think he was a prof footballer, (a bit like that bloke at Soton a few years back who was meant to be George Weir's cousin or something and on his debut (as a sub) they subbed him!) |
George Weir! | |

This will all be forgotten once Diakite has his first below average game then we come on here and abuse him for being complete sh1t, not fit to laces Derry's boots, etc, etc, etc.

taewoo ? on 08:51 - Feb 5 by MelakaRanger | "Unbelievably harsh criticism. Done little wrong in his two performances so far. Is this because Bothroyd isn't playing any more, we need to carve apart somebody else? " No I dont think its a case of no Bothroyd so pick on someone else. I think that many supporters are totally frustrated at a number of players who are all supposed to be top quality players, who by their actions recently are not 'top quality'. Quality professionals should be able to 'hit the ground running' and should not need 2 , 3 o4 4 games to get up to speed. We do not have the luxury to wait for people to 'bed in'. By that time we will be bottom of the league. But its not just Taiwo. How the heck do we not win from 2 nil up against Villa and then lose at home to Wolves? Even with Cisses sending off, our 10 men should have been more than amply able to see the win through. Everyone has some blame laying at their door - from MH down through all the players (some much more than other) |
"Quality professionals should be able to 'hit the ground running' and should not need 2 , 3 o4 4 games to get up to speed." That is as shockingly naive a comment as I've seen in ages. It implies that there is no need for team interaction or chemistry in football; that players just do their own thing and aren't part of a bigger unit that answers to a manager who has his own ideas on strategy and so on. That just isn't the case in football -- chemistry, understanding and strategy are a huge part of a team sport like football. That is why a player can look world class in one team and never really work out at another (err ... think of Torres, for instance)

taewoo ? on 22:02 - Feb 4 by rrrspricey | You two (not Ealing) are unbelievable. First two games in the toughest league in the world & you start slating him already. Do you really think Hughes just bought him on the strength of a "conned" reputation. Get behind you team when the going gets tough rather than looking for scapegoats. |
I really don't think we have time to waste to see if he will get better or not. Traore at LB every time.
