Another low crowd 20:52 - Mar 8 with 1048 views | builthjack | Under 14,000 on a nice sunny day. What would you do to get bums on seats ? For next Saturday I would offer in the region of 3000-4000 seats at £10 adults , £5 senior, student and u18. £3 u12. Put a window of Monday - Thursday. Make money in the club shop, and catering outlets. What would others do?
| Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

Another low crowd on 21:13 - Mar 8 with 971 views | SullutaCreturned | it's easier to lose fans than it is to get them back. If not for my son I would probably have stopped completely and wouldn't go back, I was quite comfortable with my armchair view. The best way to get them back is to keep entertaining and win more games. The biggest turn off was slow, boring, repeptitve football and losing too often.

Another low crowd on 06:30 - Mar 9 with 659 views | jack247 | We seem to have a new breed of fan that prefer to stream games unless everything is perfect. I’m sure this is affecting every club, not just us. Yes, there are things the club could do, but I think it’s mainly down to how accessible games are now. Levein has gone Williams has gone Grimes has gone The excuses have gone. If people don’t start turning up now, I think we have to accept our core fan base is shrinking. At least in terms of attending games.
Another low crowd on 06:36 - Mar 9 with 656 views | jackal | the way we played under Williams was enough to drive people away. As has been said previously, it's far easier to lose fans than gain them. People get used to not going to games, they find something else to do We should be dangling a juicy carrot to get these lost fans and prospective fans (parents and more importantly their kids) to games.

Would you ever consider not going because you didn’t like the playing style/owners/manager/captain etc? I agree, once previously match going fans become armchair fans, you’ll be lucky to see them a couple of times a season. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Re your first paragraph, i think most fans wouldn't blame the things you mentioned but after a gutsfull some people just give up and start doing something else. I for one stopped going simply because I had a gutsfull of williams, I am hoping to get to few games before the end of the season.
Another low crowd on 08:29 - Mar 9 with 543 views | Landore_Jack | People have had enough. They have been driven away by the poor football offered by RM and LW. Plus the American owners have driven this club from the PL to surviving in the Championship. They have lost trust in owners.

Plenty have, openly on here. Maybe the captain was stretching it, but certainly the rest. I don’t think people from here are doing anything else, they are just watching at home. They still post about the games. You may be right about people who don’t use this site just finding other things to do. I’m talking about the more invested fans who are interested enough to come on here and discuss the Swans.

40 plus years a ST holder, 70 odd away grounds following the Swans & I gave it all up mainly due to Martins boring football. I found it difficult to watch a full game under Williams. Although not thinking of renewing ST I will go to more games now it’s entertaining ( I have seen some poor stuff over those 40 plus years). It seems I’m not alone.

Yeah this is exactly it. If committed fans are giving up, what chance have we got attracting the next generation? For the vast majority of those 40 years, you either went to the ground or you didn’t see the game. That’s not the case anymore. We played a lot of dire football at the Vetch.

I played football yesterday and was reffed by a very well known Northbank legend my old man’s best mate I won’t put names up , anyway this man has been going since the 60s a season ticket holder down the liberty from day one , I asked him if he was going down after our game and to my surprise he said I have hardly watched them all season and had turned down an offer that morning a free hospitality ticket 😮, that’s where we are at sadly
Another low crowd on 11:48 - Mar 9 with 283 views | EagleEye | There’s no quick fix to getting back a couple of thousand lost fans. Cheap tickets & better marketing may put a few on the crowd but will only have a short term effect. Winning & attractive football is the most effective antidote. Passing the ball around the back four deep in our own half then boasting about dominating the ball fools no-one any more. Appoint a manager with personality & contacts in the game. Someone with an up to date vision of how the modern game is being played Make a statement signing or 2 - show some intent & ambition to strengthen the squad not gambling with unknowns Do these basic steps & start next season strongly & there’s a decent chance that crowds will improve

I think sky sports + is doing untold damage to the EFL yes the clubs are getting more money, but it's turning fans into armchair fans. A cold wet Tuesday night and you can watch the game from the comfort of your armchair

I'm not knocking anyone for their choice, but how many on here actually attend every home game. Then we need to ask those who don't what it would take to get them through the turnstiles, if anything.

50+ years of supporting Swans had various season tickets over the years my Mrs and aye travelled away regularly in the Toshack days, rarely after 1983 though Wembley days apart, I think Yeovil was our last away game my eldest came with us we won 2-1, oh we did go to Brighton when we were in the Prem we got gubbed 5-0. Not been to a home game since Wilmot scored a headed goal to beat Cardiff, I watch us from my armchair of course, not got the enthusiasm to actually go down Liberty these days though. My eldest doesn't show any interest in going either, when he went away to work was the beginning of the end, I kept season tickets going for two seasons, then felt it pointless to renew , when one of the tickets wasn't getting used enough except when my Mrs could go.

Yet other clubs seem to keep their fans. Bradford, 16000 regulars in league 2, Portsmouth full house every game even in the lower leagues, Norwich, Ipswich, many others. Maybe the Premier League years spoilt a good few thousand. Agree about the owners, but they are only passing through.

It's a concern Ken , it sure is It's apathy really I have criticised our fan base including myself It might be genetic We are not as passionate as we think Pompey, Bradford are crazy loyal in a way we can only dream of We should be seeing increased crowds after the appalling turgid shite has ended It's going to take some inspired marketing

No you’re definitely not on your own. Gave up my season ticket due to the owners . If they could have sold the tea lady….sorry…person…I’ve no doubt they would. They were arrogant in dealing with players and contracts and it appeared to me I was being treated as a cash cow for their incompetence. At the moment the new owners appear to be of the same ilk so in that respect I’ll not be rushing back. I have Sky and watch the team whenever they’re on plus I go to a few home games. And that’s the way it’s going to stay for me.
