Ryan Bennett (2012) all over again 23:41 - Feb 3 with 2339 views | ReslovenSwan1 | I believe Coleman tried his best and delivered Wright to Fairwood. Williams it seems did not give him a positive vibe. For whatever reason he pulled out. Some talk of the club not wanting to pay agents fees. Who knows? The club moved on good prospects even when they are under contract and cannot close out deals for new players either. Buying new players is risky. Having failed to buy players the club must have decent coaches to improve the young players already at the club. It must not buy and keep washed out veterans. Swansea missed out on a promising DMF from Spurs a few years back Tashan Oakley Booth who was in Coopers u17 WC squad. He did not do well at Stoke or Lincoln and is now in Portugal. He also had pedigree. Wright resembles the Ryan Bennett story where hi e changed his mind and went to Norwich. He gave them 5 good years and Cooper signed him went he was well past his best on big money. Gazumped by Norwich once again.Reportedly Ryan did a u turn on the M4. The club could not even get the Welsh kid from Chippenham who went to Peterborough but has been loaned back. Chippenham???? and led a dance by the Orient. [Post edited 4 Feb 0:20]

He is accountable. The Welsh fans do not have such high standards for their own group. The one they own..

The Trust did not want to sell their shares and not one off the timid members said anything. They were financially native in the extreme. Individuals make things happen not committees. If the Trust had their way Swansea would still have the old owners and in league 2.

On the subject of the Trust, I would hope that they make a statement in the next day or so with regards to the disappointment of the window, again, and what they propose to discuss with the majority owners to improve the situation going forwards | | | | Login to get fewer ads

The Trust did not sell any shares because the board member said their shares were not for sale and never would be. The reason for this was the mandate to increase ownership not reduce it. The best way to do this was to sell high and buy low but this concept was too subtle for them. Not selling shares was their fault but no strong individual came out of the woodwork. The members were all privates not form the officers mess. The legal case was a fig leaf They screwed up and tried to blame anyone else. Coleman will apologise in the forum and say he has learned a lot. The h January window is a jungle. Sir Alex did not bother with it. I suspect Wright agent held the club to ransom under time pressure. The fans judging by this forum have learned nothing from some tough lessons. That is why they may as well shut the Trust down other than as a pressure group.

Swansea did not force him out but did force out Gyorkeres. They keep making bad decisions with managers not having a long term perspective. This is why the club is slowly getting weaker. The future is Cullen. He is improving to be fair.

Id Cooper had played Viktor he would have scored. If he scored he would have stayed for the season with a probably option to buy which Coventry had. Coventry bought Grimes with the help of the Gyorkeres money. Another Swansea mess up.

He scored a crisp head v Stevenage in the FA cup.. He was a young player needed to be developed having all the raw tools. Let's hope Vipotnik and Kuharevych can develop like he has. These sort of players are rare. Cooper did not see the potential Robins saw. Robins was a long term manager Cooper declined even his contract and wax a quick fix merchant with his loans. Players that needed 18 months were no use to him. [Post edited 4 Feb 21:28]

“Players that needed 18 months were of no use to him” - the average tenure of a championship manager isn’t that long these days so it’s easy to see why managers want the finished product. There are currently only 4 managers in the Championship who’ve been with the club for longer than 18 months. Cooper was given a brief and that was promotion while the club still had parachute payments coming in, unfortunately he wasn’t able to deliver and left. Maybe he feels he was left down by the powers that were in charge at the time. You keep going on about this, but unless you’re on the inside you don’t know what happened. Maybe Cooper saw enough in training to make his mind up. If Brighton had thought he was a £20m plus player why did they sell him so cheaply? [Post edited 4 Feb 22:28]

Fans are in a constant state of " everyone must be sacked".At some point you need to drop an hour and build. Coleman and co tick all the boxes. a) in Swansea b) investing cash c) investing their own cash and time d) looking to engage and communicate with the fans No doubt he has to do better. It is as good as it gets. The next is build and improve. Williams does not look as he is improving players and needs improvements fast . Selling Abdullai was not a good sign. Coventry got lucky. The harder they work the luckier they get. They had better judgement. Recruitment and academy have provided good players and managers have ditched or sold them mostly cheaply. Whittaker Al Hamadi Joseph Benda Abdullai all doing well after being dispatched. Lowe was real good for Swansea but sent away as " unsuitable" for the playing style. Eom fits but does not produce any thing like what Lowe did [Post edited 5 Feb 12:47]

He forgot a rather important box that definitely needs ticking...CAPABILITY. Oh another one...KNOW-HOW. Lets go for another...EXPERIENCE. Those boxes are not ticked and as long as Coleman tries to do too much by himself they never will be. Why people bother replying to his trust nonsense is beyond me, I mean I am a persistent, stubborn old cus and even I gave up. He takes the facts and rearranges them to match his own narrative.
