Colemans business acumen 16:33 - Jan 26 with 1893 viewsshaggyrogers

The guy has made money but not from building and running businesses that employ 100's of people. His family ran a small hotel in Washington from what i have found out and he then made his money from arranging finance etc for hotel acquisitions. He is absolutely out of his depth when it comes to running a business of our size especially in football. He brought in Kenny boy to try and deal with the every day stuff but the UK is a different animal to the US. For starters our employment laws will cause him problems.

To think Coleman now is looking after player recruitment is frightening and fills me with utter dread. The club is rudderless yet these 2 think they the know what they are doing. They don't and we are in the cack big time

Football business is like no other business, unless you have unlimited wealth you need to be very in tune with the game to succeed.
I agree 100% with you regarding Coleman and transfers. He is either naive or arrogant to think he can do everything, whichever it is, I hope he is very lucky and unearths a couple of gems to keep us up

If he is smart he will adapt and learn. If he is not smart then Swansea could end up in big problems. Smart people can learn fast

People on here call Jenkins lucky and Dinneen a fool. They g had little experience but proved themselves very shrewd indeed.

It only ended after a trophy and 15 long years. Swansea did marvellous transfer work with the guidance of good strong managers like Martinez Brendan and Laudrup. When weaker managers accepted poor players problems started.

Coleman needs to appoint a Guidolin type manager who has done it all and wants a crack at UK football. He will guide the club away from pitfalls and dubious agents.

Don't focus on Jenkins and Dineen. The real power was with Martin M.

Who was it who made Coleman chairman, Kaplan and Levien may be gone but their legacy will be here for a while.

Along with £30-40m. The club is in a reasonable place with a decent manager.

If Coleman is micromanaging it means he does not trust his staff. If Gude is about business culture they may be looking to make a step change.

I have never heard a manage admit he "lost motivation for a while" (Martin) or a manager admit HIS team "lost the will to compete". (Williams). An extraordinary admission. So why no change in the on field manager. (Grimes)

If motivation is a problem then drastic action is required and selling Abdullai is not it.

As far as chairman of the club is concerned he is giving the impression of being out of his depth standing in a puddle.

I have just found out what Andy got for Xmas and to be honest it has made me feel a little more confident for the future :

Quickbooks
Football manager 2008
Subbuteo

With those tools in his procession what possible could go wrong ?

I had an interesting chat with someone yesterday who has had dealings with Coleman over the last year. What was said was pretty scathing .
My thoughts before were that he was out of his depth and this was confirmed. In conversation he basically doesn't listen but is just waiting to cut in and ramble . The conversations generally get around to him and how good he is at everything !!.
He is not assessable to the staff at all. If you want to talk to him it is done through Ken who is his private secretary so to speak.
He has no realistic vision and this is felt throughout the club with most just drifting along.
The biggest worry is no matter what you say he will just do what he thinks is best and this is never going to change.
This club needs a football CEO very quickly . There is no one at the club at senior level who has the first idea about football and its workings. Worrying times

He is, and his work is more around looking at /suggesting players these days, Coleman does the rest.

A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.

How much of the club does Coleman own?
I know it’s 77% between the three, and Morris has about 14%.
But how much does Coleman own%

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

Andy Coleman, Brett Cravatt & Jason Cohen (via Swansea Football LLC) own 77.41% . As long as there is a LLC involved there is no way of knowing what percentage each individual has invested.

I am just wondering is Coleman now a puppet for the two new ones.

All well and good getting a CEO in but if Coleman is that stubborn and won't listen it'll be money down the drain in bringing any CEO coming here.

Hodge is the one with football experience (ex player and has worked well at Burnley with recruitment).
He should be doing more than just advising the chairman.

It is just a fan rule. Anyone except Trevor Birch is a puppet. It is nonsense. Coleman is in the job and calling the shots. If the team performs badly he will be sacked.

He is learning on the job. I wish him well .

Check out Stuart James' tweet about our business which he posted today. It is quite telling and pays respect to Mr Trevor Birch.
