QPR v Not Preston again Match Thread 12:27 - Dec 19 with 3248 views | Wilkinswatercarrier | OK, here we go again, match thread 4! Does it feel like we have been playing Preston for an eternity? Will John Inman be crying into his Cosmopolitan at the end of the game? Will QPR continue to grind out the wins to keep us all in the Christmas spirit? The Ancient Alien Astronaut theorists say 'YES' again! A week off, key players back, and a 3pm KO. Preston also 1 win in 11, I think, but loads of draws. 2-0 Rangers (if we turn up). QPR v Not Preston again Match Thread on 12:48 - Dec 19 with 2522 views | TomS | It feels like one of those fixtures where the editors on Sky Sports will struggle to identify sufficient highlights to fill their obligatory two minutes which is posted to their website after every match. I suspect that any rare moment of quality in this match will be repeated at least twice to make that happen. Nil all.
QPR v Not Preston again Match Thread on 12:53 - Dec 19 with 2506 views | E15Hoop | It appears that, unbeknownst to us, whilst the footballing world has been obsessing over Pep Genius Guardiola appearing to descend into public nervous breakdown territory, and Marcus "Always A Red" Rashford deciding that £325,000 a week might actually not be enough to convince him to be "Always A Red" after all, there's been some conspiracy happening behind the scenes to ensure that Preston North End and Queens Park Rangers actually morph into being...wait for it (gasps of shock horror...) THE SAME TEAM! Preston North End P 21 W4 D11 L6 F21 A 27 Queens Park Rangers P 21 W4 D10 L7 F21 A27 So let me formally announce that Saturday will now be the official unveiling of the newly merged outfit Preston Queens North Park End Rangers FC or PQNPER for short... On the plus side, since it turns out we're actually playing ourselves, could this mean there's an increased chance of us winning...?
QPR v Not Preston again Match Thread on 13:31 - Dec 19 with 2382 views | BrianMcCarthy | Leaving style aside, we've been playing very poorly a lot recently. While the points are welcome, I've never agreed with the "winning while playing poorly is the sign of a good team". It's not. It's the sign of a poor team that's got lucky. So I want to see us play well. Press, tackle, head, and pass to someone you know.

QPR v Not Preston again Match Thread on 14:51 - Dec 19 with 2119 views | Bluce_Ree | I always feel like an away trip to Preston is a guaranteed two-nil defeat. It's such a cold, awful shithole and so far away. So a home match against them should be worth a 1-0 to us. Maybe more. I'm not ready to start believing we're any good yet though.

QPR v Not Preston again Match Thread on 15:31 - Dec 19 with 1944 views | stantheman10 | I watched Knob End against dirty Leeds and they were very unlucky not to have won. They are quick on the counterattack so that won't suit us! They scored on a breakaway from a Leeds attack. 1-1 if we're lucky. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
QPR v Not Preston again Match Thread on 16:23 - Dec 19 with 1833 views | numptydumpty | Keep your run going Wilkins we hope. Realistically recent results suggest we should get another win but we always fail at the sign of being favourites. I think a draw would be decent - as long as we keep our unbeaten run going for as long as we can, no matter what our performances deserve. Likelihood there could be a few of our injured heroes returning at the very least to the bench - I think Chair will start this game ahead of Andersen / Madsen. Frey should at least get a sub appearance and hopefully JCS and Colback on bench and perhaps Paal getting a start ahead of Ashby. Am hoping for a win - and with Wilkins at the helm, loftforwords expects !!!

The winning when playing poorly thing is a sign of a good team when applied to teams that mostly win games but have the odd bad/average performance and still manage to get over the line regardless. The sort of teams that win things (or go close) while grinding out a few ugly results along the way. None of the above is relevant to modern day QPR.
QPR v Not Preston again Match Thread on 00:47 - Dec 20 with 1262 views | DannyPaddox | Call it ennui or old age or both but I can’t motivate myself to think about a game against Preston until maybe 5 minutes before kick off. But here’s a match thread teaser for ya. Name another North End club. I can think of 2 possibly 3.

QPR v Not Preston again Match Thread on 08:36 - Dec 20 with 977 views | stevec | Yet another fixture against the fun sponge that is Preston North End. Guaranteed to poop on any party and this one only a few days before Xmas. Sometimes I have dreams that we get relegated just to avoid them for a season but I dare say, when it happens, they’ll probably take the drop alongside us. I shall drink myself into oblivion beforehand to numb myself from the inevitable 0-0/0-something borefest they’ll undoubtedly inflict upon us.

Well there’s the famous ‘Dokers’ of Dundee whose home ground is North End Park. Apparently their ‘walkout’ music before each match is the Joker by Steve Miller Band but adapting the lyrics to say “I’m a doker, I’m a smoker and I’m a midnight toker”. (I made the last bit up) Farnborough and Glossop the other 2?

Great knowledge - I’d heard of Glossop and Dundee but Farnborough is a new one on me. There’s also a North End FC - from Glasgow (?) but they could be called Northend FC - not 100 % on them. Glossop North End had one season in Division One in 1898/99 (pre-VAR!) which makes Glossop the smallest town to be represented in the top flight.

I disagree with you slightly Brian. Winning while playing badly is the sign of a good team when it happens OCCASIONALLY. However, since Norwich we have been playing consistently VERY poorly. Like you I am delighted to post the 4 points from Bristol City and Oxford. But to continue to perform like that is not only unsustainable, but unacceptable to the paying supporters, especially those in attendance and even more so when they travel the length and breadth of the country to follow them. I feel Preston, like Oxford is absolutely a game we should be winning and probably need to win. But if we play as we have in the last couple of games, we will not. If feels like a 0-0 to me.
QPR v Not Preston again Match Thread on 13:07 - Dec 20 with 519 views | CLAREMAN1995 | We are so hard to predict right now but 2 exciting things are happening despite out threadbare squad.Once we take the lead we pull away and win which is normal for most teams except us of course.More important like last weekend falling behind would have normally meant 3 or 4 nothing loss but we fought back and drew and could have won to be fair . I see us taking the lead here and winning with another clean sheet 2-0
