Totally agree, that was a stonewall penalty, the shot from behind clearly showed the arm around his neck, trouble was the useless fat t&at was not up with play. But we did make more chances last night that should have been buried imo, and the lads put up a much better fight. Can’t see why we don’t play Tall Paul from the start the dynamics changed when he came on. |  |

Lets get real here , Liverpool went 2-0 up with a little help from bednerek and their £130m strike force but unfortunately we have a host a players with a mistake in them thats why they are here.
Liverpool then made a host of changes and we got back in it and really ahd their young team rattled and in the end the REF saved them .
The problem is we wont be playing 3rd choice players every week in the prem so dont get your hopes up . Saints have nothing going forward and no creativity . We didnt replace stu armstrong and che when they left and never replaced ward prowse.

As well as the slip up and the massive Bednarek slice that gave the goal to Nunez, Macarthy also made a couple of decent saves when at 2-0 and I'm sure on a couple of occasions actually came for and thumped the ball clear!
The worry was one particular tippy tappy moment in the 2nd half at the back when a couple of Lpool players smelt blood when he looked more like rabbit in headlights, but got away
with it!
But also how successful were his long kicks in actually getting to a red shirt, and from memory, didn't one or two actually go out for a throw in?? | | | |

When he came on he really unsettled Liverpool.
Of course he has to score goals but he wasn’t the only one missing them.
The first half was played as if we had a ‘hang over’from the Martin era, in the second you saw the Saints team we all remembered,charging forward,missing chances and losing the ball but entertaining.

He missed 2 absolute sitters, when it would have been easier to score than miss. One was a simple nod in with his head, which he couldn't manage and the other was a tap in from a few yards out, when he somehow got his legs all tangled up. I've never seen anything quite like it. I keep hoping that, one day, the ball is going to accidentally bounce off of some part of him into the net.
Everybody was cheering and laughing when he ran with the ball as it was like watching a clown running. In fact, it was like the cheering you get when a fan invades the pitch and then falls over. We knew at the end of the run, he would lose control of the ball. He looks so uncoordinated. BUT, you can't help but like him. [Post edited 19 Dec 14:25]

Good Premier League strikers, like top managers, don't usually come from the Premier League. There is a whole world out there to find one from, which is what successful clubs do.
