Worryingly I think the team will be very similar to the other night, Smyth in for Chair and Ashby for Santos, maybe Morrison in for Madsen with Field back in midfield
Team for Saturday now… on 20:55 - Nov 7 by Rangersw12
Madsen and Anderson shouldn't be anywhere near the team imo
Nardi
Dunne RB Saito LB Cook CB Field CB
Varane CM Morgan CM
AM Kolli LW Lloyd RW Smyth
CF Celar
If Ashby is fit then I would have him at LB and Saito instead of Kolli

Kolli, Lloyd, Smyth, Celar, Madsen.
F me, shoot me now.
Not even L1 quality between them.
...and my lack of a positive attitude has been pulled up on here tonight.
Jeez.
If I did not have another reason to be there this weekend, no way would I subject myself to being surrounded by 35000 Happy Dirty Lids fans. I was there when Ainsworth scored a great goal to go 1-0 up to then watch Brian f**king Deane score 4 in a 6-1 defeat. Surely something similar is coming our way this weekend?
Shambles of a club from top to bottom and back up.
I hope Morrison is fit enough to play. That would allow Field to go back to midfield and we might see somebody make a tackle. God knows who we've got to play LB. Saito isn't ideal but done OKish when asked.

Not sure how many times this needs repeating. We must play a 433 with the midfield 3 all proper centre midfielders and not 10s. We cannot go with 2 in the middle of the park. It’ll be carnage.
Nardi Dunne Cook Morrison (assuming fit) Saito Field Varane Morgan Lloyd (pace) Smyth (pace) Celar (who else?)
The above gives you a more robust midfield 3, 2 centre halves at centre half, lad that has shown some willing at left back, someone physical at right back, and a bit of pace up the other end of the pitch. There isn’t much more you could do. The only other idea I had was Kolli was Celar and just see what happens.
I think the above is by far our best team with what is available for Sat. But it is bleak.
And if Morrison is unfit, along with Fox and JCS and Ashby and Paal, then Field will have to do drop to centre half. In that situation I’d play Aoraha or EDB in that midfield 3…probably the former.

OP is what I'm guessing. Can't see Morrison coming straight in.
It is bleak though when you're struggling to even name a starting XI. On that basis alone people should be thinking twice about calling for a change of manager.

It's incredible that we can consider fielding such a dire team, and yet not one of our own development squad is even good enough for inclusion (Lloyd having come from Yeovil). Literally, the blokes running it have had money for nothing. I might be getting a bit repetitive now....

I do agree with you but you could pick any 11 or any formation you want for tomorrow or any game and it won't matter if you don't play with purpose and energy. Whether you call it pressing, closing down or just breaking into a sprint we need to see a lot more of that from every player, you can't stand off and let the other team play
The number of players on Tuesday who were just walking for most of the first half was criminal

Agree with this, but I could also see a logic for playing the same players in a 532 or 5311, with Saito and Smyth as wing-backs, still with your solid three in midfield and three centre-backs to deal with the crosses that will almost certainly come.

Picking a first goal scorer from the prediction league drop down list was sobering. I've approached it in a systematic manner, ruling out the departures, the injuries and the no-hopers, and In the end I've gone for the new lad, Shepperd...
It is hard work staying positive. I've still gone for a win, of course.

Completely agree, Dave. But I think you’re more likely to get that (consistently) if you have more of your team filled with players for whom that is part of their game.
