It’s galling though boundy bach. Whittaker is a constant reminder of how we f it up. He doesn’t seem to be troublesome there so questions can be asked as to how Plymouth bluddy Argyle is so different . When he first came to us,he was raw and frail. He needed to grow and develop . He has now .

The mistake with Whittaker was bringing him back for a quick buck when he was doing well at Plymouth and didn’t want to come back. If the owners had treated him better he may have been happy to stay after Martin left. I don’t think Gyokores was a mistake. He wasn’t our player and he was useless. Brighton know their stuff and they were happy to let him go cheaply. It’s not so much the point that’s being made though, it’s the fact it’s Groundhog Day every time he scores. It’s literally the same thread every time. Working. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Duff looked at what he had and went with Lowe Cullen Yates and Kuharevych. Whitaker came to him and said he was fed up and wanted to go. Duff had options. a) "You are under contract and I want you to be my main man". b) "No problem will speak to Watson". Neither he nor Gyorkeres were allowed to develop at Swansea. Fletcher failed his trial. It bad management. You b do not need to be an experts to see Fletcher will be the next calamitous bad decision. it is what Swansea do these days. Strikers with ego are "too much trouble". Cantona? no thanks. Cullen yes please - model professional.

Looking at the positives - at least we brought them in initially before deciding against. Hopefully we can bring more in and see the potential tail Although how Fletcher failed his trial given our options is truly baffling

He didn’t fail mate, he was sent back as he wasn’t under a professional contract. He couldn’t play. In any event Levien wasn’t going to allow it.

Duff said he was on trial and "the club " would make a decision on his future in January. After Duff showed no enthusiasm for this young developing player Levien stated he was happy he was coming back. WoL noted he was keen to stay. It is true he could not play for the first team but he could have if Swansea had come to an arrangement. It is very odd a player on trial scores 17 goals in three months including 2 hattricks and no one says a good word about him at all. Recent Swansea mangers had no interest in signing Gyorkeres, and were disinterested in Whittaker. Now Kuharevych is the latest on the bad boy step. It looks like a pattern to me. Add to the fact the best and only centre forward produced by the the academy is the moderately talented Cullen who cannot head crosses into the goal. Club staffers are not doing their work well.

No error in my comment. I did not study the timeframes. Duff was happy to ultimately go with Lowe and co and did not offer Whittaker a starting place he has shown he deserved. He has scored as many goals on his own as the four used combined at a guess.

Possibly because Piroe and McBurnie were both given actual, proper chances to thrive in our team and subsequently weren't sold at a discount as a result, potentially costing the club eight figures of lost income. It's only natural to wonder how he would have done here if not consistently mucked about by managers (and I'll include Cooper in that) and eventually club. Losing more than £10m in transfer fees isn't something that can be glibly "chalked up to experience". It is a major error that could seriously hurt the club in the long run. Serious questions need to be asked of those responsible for their utter failure in utilising a player who, when played consistently in his best position, is reportedly being valued in that range, especially when it was obvious at the time that he wasn't getting a fair crack of the whip in comparison to others. Then he should have behaved himself, learned from Piroe that behaviour like flicking the v sign behind coaches backs isn’t a good idea. You would be the first to complain if he did it to you.

Depends if that coach wasn't a complete idiot continually trying to make things work that obviously were never going to. There seems to be a school of thought that a manager trying to make things work that never, ever were going to in a month of Sundays should somehow be protected from players calling him out on it. Sure, the Waylon Smithers types like Grimes will cheerfully go along with just about anything the boss comes up with, but in football, just as in any kind of occupation, stupid management needs to be called out.

Unbelievable you would condone that behaviour from a petty little boy who is being paid good money to wear our clubs shirt. And it’s ok ? As if Morgan Whittaker ever gave a monkeys about Swansea city to behave like that. He’s lucky he didn’t do that in a real job. Only one outcome. As for stupid management, Joel Piroe saw fit to learn, as did Ryan Manning. I’m thinking you are confusing your dislike of a person with a judgement on his professional ability. His record this season speaks for itself ( and none of this premier league nonsense ) his last eleven games last season proved this at Swansea. Just admit you don’t like the guy even though you don’t know him and be done with it.

As if Russell Martin ever gave a Monkeys about Swansea City to be afforded that level of protection for his wilful negligence. Not sure why players who are being paid to play for the club are held to higher standards than one who is being paid to manage it. The attempts to improve his own reputation within the game for "progressive football" ahead of the wellbeing of the club he is ostensibly supposed to be coaching. Even now he's desperate to blame anyone, anything other than himself for the levels of failure we witnessed in his two years at the club. I have every sympathy for any player who showed the appropriate level of contempt for Martin under those circumstances. As someone who mocked the arrogant buffoon on a weekly basis when he was here, it would be hypocritical of me to do anything else. If anything his record this season completely justifies the criticism he got last season. He knew full well how to get the best out of the players he had at his disposal. He just refused to do so. It's absolutely no coincidence that his run of form at Southampton coincides almost entirely with his abandonment of his "process", just as his runs of form here did the same. We wasted two years under this idiot, and both he and his supporters have done their level best since to pretend that someone else was to blame for it. [Post edited 16 Feb 0:44]
