QPR seek new investors on 22:07 - Jul 28 with 5068 views | QPRConor2000 | I wonder if they are after new investors in order to try and grow the revenue at the club, especially on the commericial side. Furthermore, perhaps you could see it as a possible step towards Amit and others deciding to sell the club to someone else. But it is interesting, especially considering the about of US owners coming recently, just look at Birmingham for example who recently got taken over.

Sure I SAW a figure of 26. Million turnover for Wrexham in the coming season , that dwarfs a lot of clubs in most of the leagues , they have some serious sponsors on board. Tv money , etc etc , And I belive arnet as hampered but the same ffp rules as we are

I said a few a weeks ago but i am sure this a sign that we are about to be told that the owners won't be getting there hands on hold of that land for a new stadium.

We have the most recognisable kit in the land ( biased), West London based, soccer in the States getting bigger. As everyone says just need to make sure we stay up. Changes are coming, don’t scoundrel the Chelsea affect, much as I really hate to say it

Well, who knows? Either something is afoot or the Board will look at new options along with new investors. I would imagine our CEO must have spoken to Hounslow Council who fully supported the new training ground. The funding for that at £30M was pretty straightforward. In that context, selling LR and funding a new stadium in my view is also straightforward- just a case of where. Any new potential investors will know that Ruben and Amit have access to serious capital so any new investment is a limited risk. They are clearly seeking investors who can bring something different-not just money.

Well put and of course it doesn’t have to be foreign money. It could be British people or even QPR fans investing I guess. [Post edited 29 Jul 2023 11:15]

Yep, that’s why we should have gone down last season. As it is the owners are trying to sell a bum deal with no upside. No doubt the players have realised that GA is straight out the door in the event of new investors coming in but with the prospect of that being very unlikely whilst we are floundering about in the Championship, this season has the makings of a disaster.
QPR seek new investors on 17:34 - Jul 29 with 4231 views | rbee | Well there is some upside. The London location. The Stadium. The Training Facility. The basic infastructure is there. What's needed, and has been needed since Fernandes walked through the door, is for someone to manage the football side of the business correctly.

QPR seek new investors on 02:34 - Jul 30 with 3934 views | daveinmelbourne | Of course the other alternative is we get a bunch of owners/investors in that completely ignore FFP, take the risk and do anything to get up to the Prem? As someone else has pointed out, location wise, the club could be an attractive prospect?
QPR seek new investors on 18:36 - Jul 30 with 3748 views | silverbirch | Can our stadium be sold for redevelopment into flats? My worry would be that the current owners have had enough, can see they are further than ever from making money by reaching the premier league, and want out. They don’t want to be seen as the ones who made money by selling the ground and putting us in a Ricoh arena type situation, but will sell to someone else who would do that. I can’t think of another scenario that might attract new investors, unless they bring revenue with them, and how many film star Netflix owners are there? Why would anyone invest in the actual club if FFP prevents them from improving the team? [Post edited 30 Jul 2023 18:37]

QPR seek new investors on 21:59 - Jul 28 by BostonR | I accept your point but apart from the Fulham owner the current owners of Luton and Brentford do not have access to the sort of capital Ruben and Amit can acquire. Benham has wealth estimated at £250M. Ruben now oversees a multi £BN empire. Absolutely agree that really poor stewardship around on the field matters have been woeful to say the least. Selling is an option but in my view Ruben and Amit have always been in it for the long-term, hence the on-going funding of £2M per month. I was fortunate to watch our great 70’s team and fans were locked out of LR that season. The club has a brilliant fan base. I’m sure Ruben and Amit can see what’s possible. If you step back at look it pragmatically there is nothing much the Board can do do affect the football side as FFP restricts that. Their focus is now on the infrastructure and on-boarding some additional investors. |
'I was fortunate to watch our great 70’s team and fans were locked out of LR that season. The club has a brilliant fan base. I’m sure Ruben and Amit can see what’s possible.' Mate, I was also fortunate enough to be old enough to remember those days in the mid-70s, but I would question the use of one word in your statement above "brilliant". Outside of the Premier League years, we rarely have a full house, so I would say that if by some miracle we were to get promoted then yes, more fans would want to come back to LR every week to see QPR v Arsenal, QPR v Liverpool, QPR v C....., QPR v Man City.... If we were to get relegated this season, will we be locking people out on a Tuesday night to see QPR v Burton, QPR v Oxford Utd in League 1? I fear not. New investment and a further dilution of the monthly cheque writing to other investors may be the strategy with the attraction being that one of the major hurdles to attracting the players we need to make us a success has been the training facilities. Now they have them it may well be that it takes a further few years to bring through some new raw recruits, but give it 5 years and investors might see a turnaround in our fortunes

Any new investors will have to take a long-view. It’s possible they could take a haircut if the team is relegated so I imagine Ruben and Amit will not brush over that.
QPR seek new investors on 10:57 - Jul 31 with 3391 views | slmrstid | This, and the absolute real lack of any investment this summer, even in the odd free transfer, makes me feel like the Board are looking for a way out and are cutting the purse strings even more so until they do. I know I posted about Newcastle getting done for 6 before a season on Saturday and clutching at straws , very much tongue in cheek (although still got me a downvote!) but I'm certainly very pessimistic at all things QPR at the minute. Feels like decline to me. Sad times.

Interesting Reilly has second largest holding. I thought I heard at fans forum that Ruben and Amit had bought Tony’s shares (I could be misremembering). Maybe this was posted to the companies house registry prior, but if so I missed it.
