A conversation with Jake Silverstein ? on 07:56 - May 20 with 5867 views | PrettySheetyCity | I think our ownership group are either thin skinned or completely naive. . Any supporter with their head screwed on could’ve told Silverstein that messaging a teenage fan and being so “open” is a recipe for disaster. It demonstrates very poor judgment even if what he is saying is sensible (ie Russ is going to Saints and leaving us just like he did to MK, and wants to save face). The Club pays a media team a wage to grab the bull by the horns and control all comms in and out of the Club. Imagine how they must be feeling seeing Silverstein cutting about on social media!
A conversation with Jake Silverstein ? on 08:04 - May 20 with 5859 views | dobjack2 | If it's true, Martin is finished at the club whether he goes to Southampton or not. Those tweets would seem to confirm that there has been a major falling out between Martin and our owners across the pond. The propaganda war has started. Our owners need to get a new man in asap to avoid a Cooper saga and another disaster on recruitment and pre-season. Any signings that were being lined up and their agents will be considering all their options. [Post edited 20 May 2023 8:05]

All seems a bit odd Martin telling a fan what has happened whilst having a coffee. Silverstein engaging with fans on twitter Coleman putting out silly Bank Holiday tweets. Entertaining for the gossip colums but not great from the club really not that it matters a jot.

Regardless of how innocent it is, texting teenage boys at 11 o clock at night about inner workings of the club is never a good look for the CEO (or whatever he is) of a multi million pound business. Pretty unprofessional.

A conversation with Jake Silverstein ? on 08:35 - May 20 with 5755 views | Dr_Winston | If it is actually Silverstein and not someone on a windup there's not really anything particularly wrong or inaccurate in what he's saying. The Martin camp have been using leaks and the media to spin the narratives his way since he got here. We've seen it before with Martinez. I probably shouldn't be surprised that so many people fall for it but here we are.

Absolutely. It's really, really poor. It looks like he's (finally) deleted his Twitter. Let's hope someone over the pond has talked some sense into him.

If true it raises concerns about the level of understanding and professionalism. As you say this is the way things are in the rather strange world of football. As an owner you have to cover all the bases and think two or three steps ahead because the market for players and managers is so volatile. At the same time you need to provide an image of having things under control because ticket sales depend on confidence and results. If and it's a big if, Silverstein is pissed off its worrying because it means he does not understand the hap hazard nature of the business.

As someone else said, there's certainly a deal of naivety there. Probably not a coincidence that a lot of these, let's call them communication issues have begun since Birch left.

Christ half of the nonsense spouted by cildren on twitter who have no idea about football is incredible. Leave them alone to their Martin love in. Most ikely Martin wants to go, Saints are preparing a bid so there is no point in flying him the US. Just wish they'd hurry up about it and we can get onto chasing Ian Evatt.

Absolutely, what decent manager/football man would want to get embroiled in SCFC with this lot running this shitshow. We quick to take this Pizz out of that lot up the road, but this is a total embarrassment assuming its true of course.

Or it could be the sign of a gentleman who sees everyone as equals and it doesn't matter who you are, he is happy to give you his time. A very honorable trait

Smacks of Russy wanting to be the good guy when he goes & blame the yanks. He’s full of his own bullshite let’s get him out of the club & move on. He’s achieved nothing in his managerial career other than dividing our fanbase.

Yes its all Martin's fault again 🙄 I will be glad when he's gone so people stop coming on here moaning all the time. But they will probably start up again moaning about the next manager.

Really? That's all it smacks of? How do we know this is true? If Martin actually said it then why to some random on a day out? If it was true then Martin should have come out fighting, gone to the media and stated what happened. I'd have had more respect for him. He could even have said he'd be happy to stay, if it's true, whatever Southampton offered him. Or he could have been honest, whatever that means him saying. As it is he looks a bit snide to me BUT what Silverstein has done completely overshadows that. it s a shite show for our club. If they owners cancelled talks because they want Martin to go so they get the compo it makes them look exactly like what some have called them, it looks like the money is all they want. What it comes down to is, unless there has been an official approach then Martin hasn't talked to Southampton and if he has then all hell could break loose.

If what we see playing out publicly by the owners has been happening behind the scenes. Would you want out if given the chance.

To me ,” blame” lies with both Martin and Owners. Notwithstanding January, had he deployed more pragmatism into his tactics than we would easily have made play offs. A win win. Where the owners went wrong was not firing him months ago, after the proper club drivel would have been ide@l. Martin has been using the possession stats as a tool to get him noticed for a bigger job as he can blame a lack of support for any failure. The failure on the field is his alone. He deployed Fisher but not Darling His treatment of WhittKer has been appalling and his ignoring loan signings pitiful. Remember Luton forking Town could be going up to the Premier league . That has been the standard of this championship. Next season will be much harder and we need a totally different coach .
