Potter rumours 14:14 - Feb 20 with 3848 viewsHollywood56

I've heard from 3 different Chelsea supporters this morning that Potter has been sacked, apparently it's on their forums and media sites, an announcement is due later today, whether this is true or not, it's a frightening thought that our board will try to hire him, give RS the job NOW

It would be barmy, when they have a big European tie coming up.

What are they going to do? Re-appoint di Matteo?

Why is it a frightening thought? he's an experienced top level manager who did very well at similarly sized club to us.

Let's not get too over excited abut Selles. He's managed us in 2 games, a pretty awful full time draw against a L1 team and Saturday where we won due to a(nother) JWP wonder goal and then the type of bodies throw in front of the goal, scrambled goal line clearances type of thing that lower league clubs need to win against PL opponents in the Cup.

Cruel, …….. but true. However, I am not sure those two games should be the criteria. The Leeds game will be a better guide.

You were doing well until the 3rd line, you are right we shouldnt get too excited, but then you go and ruin it by trying to find an excuse why we werent very good on Saturday.

Manchester City throw themselves in the way of shots as much as lower league sides, truth is on Saturday we only had to really do it a couple of times in that one incident, the rest was just players doing the job they are paid to do and that is block shots and make tackles when not in possession.

It doesn't matter how they go in as long as they go in JWP wonder goal or own goal I dont care

We've scored one goal from open play since November Nick.

It wasn't just one one incident. There was the AMN block and the Perraud goal line clearance for a start.

We can only think we have an inking of a survival chance if we can actually beat a team of our level where we are not the worst team.

Let's see what happens on Saturday. Lose and you can start thinking of if you'll get a discount on your s/t next season or if the club will try and convince you to keep it as it as as there will be more games.

Why is it such a frightening thought? Don't worry. He's not going to come here anyway, .not even if we offered him the incentive of Lallana as his assistant.

Isn't the rest of this thread over 18 months old?

I presume "RS" was Selles; that didn't end well.....

Man U won't want Potter, they'll be looking further up the food chain as he bombed at rivals Chelsea. Fergie has already endorsed Massimiliano Allegri.
