Fck me, was I inadvertently ITK for the first time ever?

Albeit a year early and a manager late.

Gives a pretty calm impression. Seem intelligent. 4-3-3 possession based. Likes a playmaker in the middle. Very good at english. Will likely see this as a stepping stone.

Anyone know if you can stream Swedish games online? His team kick off in an hour it seems so might as well try and have a little look at how they set up

Not really. After the top five European leagues, the Championship is probably next on the list for ambitious coaches, certainly in terms of competitiveness. Cifuentes has had five successful years in Sweden. Objectively QPR is seen as an under-performing club whose fortunes can be turned around in a couple of years by the right person. He believes he's that person. Looking at his record he hasn't stayed anywhere more than two years, but always leaves on a high. Based on his record he's very much in the Nagelsmann mold.

Has he seen what he will be inheriting?

I would not judge him on this season. They sold a lot of players and this year is something of a rebuild.

Well I suppose it's time we tried the trendy Euro coach route - done all the other ones.

Manager is the most important person at the club.
If it can be afforded, and he's the right man, it's a no-brainer.

Who knows if he will be a success, but I stand by this. You try to save money, and you can end up spending more in the long run.

Bare bones.

Im actually quite excited about this appointment.
I reckon the players will be too.

Lets hope they can get this deal over the line.

A lot more going on there than "chase it Sincs", and an awful lot to drill into a team a third of the way through the season

It's a bit left field, I grant you, but I'd actually like 'no manager' for a while and force these gutless, gormless, pigshit-thick players to try to drag themselves out of the gutter (or else humiliate themselves trying).

In the words of the inimitable John Sitton, 'you got us into this, now you can get us out of it'. And you can f*cking bring your dinners with you, etc. etc.

Poll: What should the club do now (assuming no imminent change of owners)?

Marti Cifuentes on 17:56 - Oct 30 with 3037 viewsloftus77

I know what you mean.

I wonder (lazily) if there is a hint of the 'Luigi Di Canio's' about this possibility. But would it be too radical, risky and reckless (lots of r's there - sign?) for where we are right here, right now? IIRC the Di Canio appointment (mid 2007/8?) came at a time of much relatively calmer waters than now (recent massive new takeover, expensive signings on the way, FFP way over a distant horizon). Does/would Cifuentes (with no previous English management experience, I think?) really know what he is letting himself in for?

It was/is crying out for a solid proven down-to-earth Warnock, Warbs, Eustace appointment IMHO. Seems a 'salmon-leap' from Gareth Ainsworth in a matter of days, but hey.

I did say we'd let Gareth build his team and then spend the winter with Ajax Youth Bot 3.2 trying to teach 4-box-two to Josh Scowen.
