I remember BBC Wales ‘Dragons Eye’ doing an item about WAG ‘international’ offices to be located in places that many would consider to be rather nice tourist visiting locations. The question that was asked at the time was how much value for money would these offices actually provide? There was the usual for and against argument. There could not be any in depth analysis about 'cost to advantage' ratio because the offices were not even established at the time of asking. If I remember correctly it all started out with just the ones in the U.S.A. Years latter, I still wonder how much value for money they represent? I hope they do and its not a case of yet more jobs-for-the-boys and a free holiday or two disguised as a fact finding mission? https://gov.wales/international-offices

Ironic when you think that the WAG are with their push for zero carbon by 2050 and to reach that aim It intends supporting low carbon farming practices and land use change. 10% of agricultural land will be shared to support tree planting by 2050 . Good crop growing land which has been cleared and trees cut down to make room for more grazing sheep , leading to increased soil salinity, erosion, and decreased biodiversity. More land for sheep means less land for other animals.

The price of feed is £450 a tonne. £250 3 years ago. Fertiliser £800 a tonne. £250 3 years ago. They actually get about £2.30 per kilo. From farm to supermarket you have the auctioneer, buyers, slaughter house, transport, butchers/ supermarkets all taking a cut.

Yes but I thought we did things differently in Wales? This just shows how corrupt politics is across the board. We are no different to England, they tell us what we want to hear (as in Drakeford going there to raise LGBT issues) but in reality when money is involved...and of course an all expenses paid jolly....there isn't a depth a politician won't plumb. I don't suppose we'll ever see the true figures for our business with Qatar. I haven't noticed masses of Americans coming t Wales though so that's one office that seems to be a waste.

You would have thought lamb would be the cheapest meat in Wales, seeing that we have so many. Slow roasted leg of Welsh lamb, absolutely delicious.

I don't have anything against them home working but it has to be a permanent arrangement with the proper solutions in place. That means selling off any property not needed, making sure the offices are used to best value for money nd putting any savings made back into public spending.

Keeping offices open for only one or two workers, with the associated running costs, is just ridiculous.

Well yes, which is why I made the above statement. Also ridiculous is Drakers and Gething spending 13000 of OUR money going to Qatar and yet many support them and their profligacy at a time when some Welsh people admit to having to eat dog food. Wait til they've spent the money on consuktations and then do exactly what they wanted to regardless of public opinion, I can't wait for more NHS cuts so they can afford the extra jobs for the boys and girls in the Senedd; Nor can I wait for the FOi reuest that reveals the real bill is much higher than they have claimed it will be.
