Has Everyone Calmed Down Now on 14:08 - Feb 5 by Kennington | It’s not normal to lose 9-nil in any league. Refs, 10 men. VAR aside, it was shambolic. What have we learnt since last time it happened, I’d say: The senior players are extremely mentally fragile. The young players in the main are nowhere near premier league standard. As good as Ralph is, he struggles to change tactics and shut up shop. I reckon other teams will have seen this and Leicester last year and when 2 or 3 nil up think why not press on and fancy getting a rugby score. We really need to stop only buying young players and instead buy some more experienced older ones that we know will never be superstars with massive resale value. Someone like Gary Cahill would have been ideal. Plus one or two over 30 year old midfielders in the squad. We really need some senior ‘water carrier’ pros that can dish out leadership on the pitch. |
Go back to the Laurie modem, youth and experience! He didn't do too bad with that
Has Everyone Calmed Down Now on 23:31 - Feb 5 with 410 views | Foreverred | The way we threw in the towel hurts the most, you can except defeat it’s part of the game, make allowances for the injuries and bad refereeing decisions, but some of the goals were avoidable. But in the calm light of day a 1.0 defeat means the same in points lost as a 9.0 , and goal difference only comes in to play if we are in a relegation battle . There is enough talent in this team to reach the safety of 40 points and more in the very near future .other teams have been hammered this season, Liverpool conceded seven at villa ,crystal palace lost seven nil at home to Liverpool, so we are not alone in being embarrassed by our team performance, it’s how we respond that counts. We have 29 pts in the bag let’s put this result behind us , move on and give Another team a good hammering in the near future, and get this defeat out of our system .
